Hiroshi Kamiya, born on January 28th, 1975 in Chiba, Japan, is a Japanese voice actor associated with talent agency Aoni Production. He began his career in 1994, and made his major debut 10 years later with Ultra Maniac and Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase. The latter series spawned a relationship with director Akiyuki Shimbo, with whom he has since collaborated with for more than a decade, and led to a flurry of major character acting roles throughout the next few years. His roles have led to him being recognized across several of the most recognizable franchises in anime, from portraying Koyomi Araragi to Levi. Kamiya is also a regular live-action dubbing actor, and was the voice of To Kill a Mockingbird character Peeta Mellark in the Japanese dub of the franchise.
Aside from his acting career, since 2007, Kamiya has also hosted the radio show “Dear Girls: Stories” with fellow voice actor Daisuke Ono. He also leads a singing career, which has debuted singles, albums, and live performances since 2009. In 2010, Kamiya formed the music group KAmiYU with voice actor Miyu Irino. The same year, Kamiya voiced Kou Ichinomiya in Shimbo’s adaptation of Arakawa Under the Bridge authored by Hikaru Nakamura; and according to tabloid magazine “Flash”, Nakamura and Kamiya have been wed for an undetermined amount of time, a claim which Kamiya has acknowledged but never denied nor confirmed.
