Sayaka's friend, Mako, is a bit weird. And she's totally in love with Sayaka. Or maybe not?
The premise this doujinshi decided to riff on just isn't worth it. Maybe people who enjoy yuri fluff might enjoy some of these scenes, but for me it's just too empty and pointless to be interesting. Mako acts as though fe's in love with Sayaka--often in unrealistic/"manga" types of ways, like yandere-threat jealousy or being blinded by feir appearance. There's a recurring joke about Mako replacing the phrase "in love" for the word "normal" (as in "I wasn't normal") and generally just using that word in a disconnected way. But honestly, I felt it was more weird for Sayaka to constantly badger Mako about feir apparent feelings. If Sayaka doesn't like the feelings, then fe should stop hanging out with Mako. And if fe does like the feelings, then fe should tell Mako that. If fe's ambivalent toward the feelings, then why bring it up? This confrontation for confrontation's sake is just stupid and goes nowhere.
