I find this one to be pretty standout amongst the crowd. While it isn't the absolute cream of the crop, the choice to go along with your own bad ending isn't one I see often in the manga I read. I'm realising I might just have a thing for characters plotting to set up other characters together, it's so much fun. They've been spicing up the Otome politics recently and it's looking good. Hope it continues on this path.

This is a story about our lovely antagonist (Mary) who tries her hardest to be the villain she was reincarnated to be, but is ultimately failing. She tried to ruin the heroines (Alicia) life by constantly being an overpretentious and haughty jerkwad, though it only makes her like Mary even more, hilariously. Their interactions are genuinely adorable and it’s such a fresh breath of air compared to the purposely assholeish heroine. The two clearly have a friendship blooming even despite Marys attempts at sabotaging Alicias chances at getting with the main capture targets. She also has a butler (Addie) who she’s spilled the beans about being a reincarnator to- Yet, he doesn’t believe her in the slightest but still goes along with her ridiculous plans for the sake of it. Their dynamic is equivalent to that of two best friends, one who’s a dumbass doing dumbass things and the other who tags along because they’re friends. So nice to see. This whole manga is amazing!

We begin with our protagonist getting isekai’d into the body of an otome game villainess who, instead of trying to avoid the bad end, decides to strive for it in hopes that she falls into ruin. Her reasoning for doing so isn’t explained until chapter 7, so expect to ask yourself “Why?” a whole lot of times until then. Really, for the first 6 chapters, our protagonist appears to have no impetus to act the way she does, she has no, and gives no, reason for acting as a villainess (which she fails at doing in humorous ways). Hell, even after she gives the reason for her behavior, it’s just… stupid. Aside from that, her antics are enjoyable to read, and the plot is somewhat interesting, even if it’s the typical isekai otome game setting. Also, the art is pretty dang good, so that’s another plus. Really, my only gripe with this manga is that the MC’s motives aren’t logical, like, at all.
