It's a good premise, and I appreciate how it unpacks the different ways that seeing a black void with people's thoughts projected onto it rather than seeing their faces affects things. Specifically, it makes it so Yechan can see people's true character--whether they are duplicitous or genuinely kind--but it also makes it so when fe sees Segye's actual face, fe struggles with interpreting the emotions behind feir facial expressions. Segye works in an office building near the convenience store where Yechan works, and fe finds excuses to visit Yechan often and try to get to know fem better. Segye's coworker Saebyul has a crush on fem and is jealous of feir interactions with Yechan. I did appreciate Saebyul's origin story (as it were). I also appreciate Songha as a character, and I find myself rooting more for fem than for Segye. You see, Songha isn't talkative, but fe is genuinely kind. And fe has some sort of history with Yechan which ended traumatically for Yechan. I don't exactly appreciate the mysteriousness of their past, but it was probably presented that way to create interest in the second season of the story. Chapter 39 also hints at the idea that Segye could have a creepy or evil aspect of feir personality, so I look forward to that also being resolved in Season 2--probably also answering why feir face is the only one Yechan can see.

Chapter 27? Why the heck it's so messed up and not realistic. A girl just got physically harrased and almost killed by a drunk guy out of nowhere in the  middle of the night, then the next morning it's all fine like the girls doesn't seem bothered at all to the fact the she almost died! Then the guy who almost killed her suddenly popped up in the convinence store to demand a hospital fee for the scratch on his face to the girl whom he almost killed author is so bad.

I really enjoyed this story. Even though it takes ur typical, "kid with supernatural abilities is bullied and hated by their parents growing up," it strays away from that trope some. For example: the mc is an adult and she's already been thru her tough childhood and has grown a bit, so while she is a bit closed off, she seems content in life. Which is unlike other stories where the mc with powers is in the midst of their tortured childhood. The romance between the two characters is cute, and it's extremely slow. So you get to see their relationship as friends develop first, which I really love in a story. The story ends up taking a twist halfway thru where you start questioning the true intentions of characters. Which is another thing I really love in a story: trying to figure out if characters have genuine intentions or if they fooled you into liking them. It made me extremely nervous, so it was really fun reading and just waiting to see what would happen! Would totally recOmmend reading if you like slow romances and traumatic backstories.
