This story is very simple. And it's clearly built around a critique of the culture and economic structure which leads to the exploitation of workers, where workers have to give up on being able to relax and have fun for the sake of fitting in with the expectations of the workforce. It's also a critique of conformity and routines. I think there's also a subtle implication that the basic necessities of survival (like food and shelter) as well as even some simple luxuries (like entertainment and such) can be produced and distributed to everyone without requiring people to work as hard as they currently are expected to, though that might be me projecting some of my own anti-capitalist sentiments onto the pages.

I'm not hugely impressed with the story, artwork, or characters. While I can appreciate the moral lesson that was being built imparted, the author fails to portray or grapple with the complicated emotions which the main character would've most certainly been dealing with and instead just has fem be all smiley and peacefilled.

2/10 story
4/10 art

2/10 overall
