Seto is a serious kid who leads a quiet High-school life, until he starts to get teased by resident Gal Anjo.
This is a story about Anjou, a stylish girl who's very unabashed about sexual topics, and Seto, a "diligent" and self-effacing boy. Anjou constantly teases Seto by saying provocative things and suggesting that they sex it up and then retracting it by saying "Just kidding." And fe doesn't seem embarrassed about showing feir skin--feir cleavage, the nape of feir neck, feir armpits, feir stomach. This attitude of feirs along with Seto's own low self-esteem makes Seto believe that there's no way Anjou could actually be interested in fem, even though fe's basically confessed to fem multiple times (most blatantly in chapters 13 and 22). Once fe learns that feir ears are an erogenous zone, fe makes the most of that information and rubs them just to watch fem squeal. After chapter 26, it feels like the story just regressed. By that point, they've already gone on a date, Anjou's already confessed that Seto is precious to fem and that fe's trying to seduce fem and gain feir interest, and Seto's already seen feir emotionally vulnerable side. And yet, rather than having their relationship continue to deepen, it just reverts back to the shallow teasing and flirting they were doing before. This is just barely acceptable because of how pathetic and self-hating Seto is portrayed to be. At this point, we also get a larger emphasis on their friends--Inuyama, Toyoda, and Chita. I’m at chapter 138. I have never written a review before so this might suck, but I just want you to read this manga that I love. Characters are unique and well developed. The main ones and the side characters. The romances are natural, and progress at a normal pace for real life relations. There is no “I saw him/her and fell in love”. Some initial attraction, yes, but its their interactions that clinch the deal. The FL is a gyaru. She dresses in a sexy way, and teases the ML. The ML is the typical study obsessed nerd. Seems like a pushover doing what others should be doing but just pass on to him. Sound very generic? Its not. As the manga progress you understand why they are the way they are. She dresses that way because she likes how she looks and feels comfortable in her clothes. If others take offense or start judging her, that’s their problem. She is not neutral to insults, but she does not want to be defined by what they think. He studies but its reveled exactly why he is obsessed. Even the pushover is explained. He lacks self confidence but that is typical of almost every character in this type of manga. What is different is that he grows, starts feeling confident thanks to Anya’s help. Even the teasing starts to change as they get to know each other. Its beautiful to see how they start bounding, learning about each other, and supporting each other. The story actually progresses! A great difference to so many others where nothing happens. Now, its still a romantic comedy between a gyaru and a nerd. There is a little drama but not much. And finally, the art is great too. Go read it.
