A skill useless from the beginning, "Restoration". Regardless, in order to save a childhood friend who sacrificed her body to protect him, Touru spent twenty-five years developing the skill. Once completed, the skill could completely defy the world’s common sense. Touru, the girl, the naughty child they picked up in a back alley, and the old landlord lady join together as companions, setting out on an adventure to become heroes. A man who lived through the depths of despair decided to move forward and widen his horizons.
The first chapter is good. You'll immediately get hooked. You have an MC that really stuggles to get powerful and he isn't even OP. He has to grind day after day to get some skills. And even after years of grinding he's still not that strong but just enough to fight and survive on his own. But the feeling of the first chapter quickly wore off. I find the FL annoying. We have an adult MC thinking like an adult if you put a teenage fl of course the contrast would be too big. Their personalities don't match. It would have been a better story without her tbh but I think this one doesn't have that big of a plot either. It's very down to earth, more in the slice of life with a bit of adventure genre.
Underpowered MC kills slimes for 30 years to restore the life of his girlfriend. A decent story let down in some places by poor translation. Even when the MC gains his cheat skill, he still really isn't "that" op, which is quite refreshing. The manga seems to focus on how they work as a team and a family. It balances a good mix of violence and "levelling up", while also feeling gentle in how the characters behave. For example, the MC takes a fair amount of abuse, but just ignores it, whereas MCs in different manga would just destroy the offending parties. It almost feels mature. A good read, benefitting from the lack of harem.
