The time is the Sengoku period—a time of endless military conflicts and political intrigue. In every corner of Giapanare clashes and wars, with humans and humanoid robots called "Clockworkers" fighting desperately to earn names and reputation for their heroic deeds in battlefields. Musashi is one of such Clockworkers who hope to become the country's best samurai warrior. As with many samurai Musashi also sets out on a journey to hone his skills. Along his journey, Musashi encounters many people ? heroes and bad guys alike. Among them is Kojiro, a Clockworker whom Musashi regards as his lifetime rival. Ironically, two of them are assigned to escort General's granddaughter! As they embark on their misadventure paved with troubles and quarrels, they eventually find themselves entangled in a plot to usurp the General's rulership.

Master butt-swordsman Hiroshinosuke Nohara (Lone Wolf) travels with his family seeking employment. The family encounters a mysterious girl Hazumi and a wild dog Shiro, and decides to travel together. The group is attacked by various assassins, eventually their lives are threatened by the butt-swordsmen's enemy, the armpit-swordsmen of the Demon Bull Clan. Who will win: butts or armpits? Against an array of idiosyncratic enemies, Hiroshinosuke Nohara and his son Shinnosuke have the chance to display their swashbuckling skills.
