The fact that she knows why the duke is acting so lovey-dovey yet stays with him perplexed me. After a while, my confusion became disgust. She had sex with a man who's under a spell, which is practically nonconsensual. Like, seriously lady?

This is the type of manga that splits people into either loving it or hating it. Sadly, or thankfully, I'm part of the former group.

It isn't without its issues, which is the fact that she forcibly makes him fall in love with her to avoid getting killed, and if you can stomach that for a few chapters or so, the manhwa eventually addresses and resolves it. The next few sentences are somewhat of a spoiler for the manhwa but I need to explain why it's not as bad as it seems to be so please be warned!

Am I saying that the ML, who was about to kill the FL, should be under the spell? No. Is she at fault for doing so? Nope.

In the manhwa, it is clear that she didn't do it on purpose and she has no clue how to undo or redo the spell. It triggered without her knowledge so it isn't like she wanted him to be under the spell. She didn't even know what it would do and what it entails until it was in effect. Secondly, as a person with no financial backing or family supporting her, if he gets out of the spell, it would mean that she would be murdered by him. Think of it as a survival mechanism; she wants the spell to continue so she could continue living but she'll eventually run away before the spell runs its course so she was saving money.

The first few chapters are rough and didn't seem to have any direction other than establishing the backstory and the characters' motivations. Around chapter 30 - 40, the author tightens the reigns on the pace and we can see that the internal struggles and thoughts are more clear, with the non-spellbound ML making an appearance and having an organic interaction with the FL. I think this is when the story becomes more interesting and I love to see them slowly figure out each other by navigating their respective fears and hopes.

The love story that eventually blossoms out of this is one to behold. I really really wish that people can give it a little time just to see the story for what it truly is. They do give this story a twist and it's executed quite well that redeems all the characters and their actions. The main plot ends around chapter 90 but I think that the succeeding chapters are necessary and can be considered as part of the main plot for the value that they add to the story.

I just. I can't. I wish that you could give this a try. I really do. Maybe you'll surprise yourself? I was a doubter as well until I gave it a read and saw that there was potential outside of my original thoughts.

Reviewed at Chapter 117.

At first I thought it'd be a weird plot with low developed characters. It is true in parts. The way the Duke becames completely dumb and on four legs for the MC is out of this world. Really. It gets boring sometimes. However, after a few chapters it improved a lot. Especially because of the major changes on the couple dynamics. At this point, I guess the plot got better and there are more things to be explained during the next chapters.

The MC makes me feel sick at most part of time. I got the feeling that she is too superficial. Of course she has a complex past and many complicated relations, but I understand from what point she's coming after 35 chs.

I liked how the plot and the characters developed after chapter 30.

The Duke himself is something else. He's got the Omg I Am The God Of Death And Feared All Over The Country vibe that I love so much, but he's also pretty intelligent and capable of realizing important details as they happen.

In other perspective, I'd say "don't read", but I'll change it for "survive until the first 25 chapters" and pray for the best.

Where do I begin? Um?? She forces the male lead to be with her? And she is aware that he is unable to give her his true consent because of the curse on him. She literally ruined everything. Plus shes annoying. I couldn't find joy in reading this knowing that the male lead has no say in what his body does or says when he's with her. Very... weird... I reread the last chapter I dropped that manwha (45) and I became more disgusted. Like... *spoiler* you know that he doesn't like it? He tells you how he doesn't like it in BLACK AND WHITE? Then in the same conversation, you go ahead and do the thing he hates? Like he even explained it to her? I find this disgusting and if the roles were reversed it would get a lot of backlash for sure.

Art is good tho

The story is great, great romance, but the end is not good.

You will see the author rushes the end, after building such a good story, the authors just kind of erases it, like it has not importance at all in the end. The MC just forget everything and traels back to the past to change the future, but is done so fast. And the FC does not now anything of the pst events at all. Is like he entire story is just dream that only the dreamer remember.
