What's Wrong with Secretary Kim? - Reviews

My initial impression of this Manga was mediocre - both the characters and the story were uninspiring and at times unlikeable. If you are reading this story and aren't immediately impressed - stick with it, because it gets a lot better.

I would divide the story into 3 main parts...

1. Pretty typical boss/employee romance.The male MC is a narcissistic, arrogant douchebag who thinks he is hot shit. He acts like he is doing the female MC a favor by offering to be in a relationship with her (because it would be "inconvenient" if she stopped working for him),  and when he is turned down, he won't take "no" for an answer. Tbh, I really disliked his character at this point in the story.

2. The male MC starts to become more emotionally vulnerable, and shifts his focus from trying to make the female MC stay by his side to trying to make himself a better person. There is a lot of character development during this part of the story, and it also delves pretty deeply into the past. This was by far my favorite part of the story, and it focuses as much on elements of mystery/drama as it does on romance.

3. Past traumas are resolved and the characters acknowledge their feeling for one another. Unlike some slow burn romance stories, this Manga does not end as soon as the characters finally start a relationship.

I thought the pacing on the story was good, and I liked the main characters a lot. The female MC is a rational woman who knows her own mind and is not interested in putting up with everyone else's bullshit. I often see this kind of female character portrayed with a bitchy or cold personality, but that was definitely not the case here. And, I ended up liking the male MC a LOT more than I initially expected to. In slow burn romances like this, the main character's are often made to be pretty clueless - hence the fact that they are unaware of each others' feeling and their relationship takes 50 or more chalters to emerge. In this case, it is more that the characters are either to caught up in the past, or are not privy to to everything that is going on.

The art is a good quality representative  of what you will find in many webcomics. The artist did a good job of portraying the characters at different ages, and the background detail was better than most.

One of my favourite manhwas of all time!! It was entertaining, super romantic and funny to top it off!

I absolutely loved the main characters, particularly the heroine. She was a strong character, but also relatable and kind. The main leads had great chemistry, and a lot of their interactions had me laughing out loud. Their relationship was healthy and well-balanced, and I loved that the characters respected and cared for each other. 

The plot was enjoyable with enough twists to keep me entertained the whole way, and it didn't feel rushed or dragged out. There were some unexpected dark plotlines, but even though I don't like anything remotely close to suspense/thriller, I found it bearable and even interesting. As a sucker for romance, I liked that there was heaps of romance all throughout the story. This manhwa definitely exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend it to all romance lovers! 

This is the first Webtoon I fell in love with! The art is amazing and the characaters were perfect (at leasts I think so). And it's not very often you when you can't guess what will happen next in webtoons/manga.

This was fucking good.. A wholesome experience who dosen't like ntr stuffs.. Even though few moments i felt like ( maybe it might end up ntr) but nope i was wrong i end up liking this manga more than i thought i would..

• Good story 
• Lovely female

Then you got it right here.. I heard they even had show with the same name.. Well no ntr is a big deals for koreans anyways 

This might've just been the best manhwa I've ever read. The characters were amazing (some awsome development with the ML), the plot kept me on the edge of my seat and I had no idea what was going to happen next and the art was absolutely beautiful. I was constantly laughing through the whole webtoon and I never once got bored. 100% would recommend.
