The best way to interpret this is just as a retelling of Peter Pan, but with more adult-oriented content (such as explicit sex). The setting is also more urban and the weaponry is more modern and gun-focused. And the things the residents of Neverland choose to indulge in aren't child-like like they were in the original story, but are instead things like shooting up drugs or having orgies. The battle scenes can be very chaotic and difficult to follow and it feels more like its just trying to evoke the sense of mass violence than actually trying to depict any specific details of the fight. The artist will also lean into the cluttered look, which does help add to the overall aesthetic. Some of the individual details look pretty nice, but when they are put together, parts can look a little awkward. For example, the hands will often look a little weird. And I don't like the way Captain Hook and the one detective will be drawn without their mouths, even when they're the focus of the panels and doing the talking. The ending of the manga felt pretty weak, and brought it down from what might've been a 4/10 to a 3/10 for me.
