My Cosmic Monster is a a adorable high school romance manga about a human girl and an alien boy. Tsubaki is a girl who tries to give off a cute persona, and cares about her appearance and how she is perceived by others. She is actually a bit loud, impulsive and quick to speak her mind. On her way home from school, she picks up a ‘dog’ and takes him home. The ‘dog’ transforms into his human form and is revealed to be an alien named Fuwa. Fuwa seems to be in a daze and is listless at times but is very interested in matters involving Tsubaki. I really liked the premises of My Cosmic Monster and it had a lot more plot that I initially had expected. The relationship between the main characters are a bit of a slow burn as their relationship develops from strangers to friends to lovers but it's all very satisfying. I really enjoyed seeing the relationship between the female lead and her sister and it made me long to have a sister. The character development of the female lead was amazing, she really became confident in being herself and her relationships improved throughout the story. The ending was a bit rushed and I wished that their was a bit of a resolution for the supporting characters.  I recommend My Cosmic Monster if you want to read a cute manga about a alien boy and a human girl.
