Both are psychological horror-esk yaoi manga that involve kidnapping, rape, and just general mind-fuckery.

YariMari YariMari says...

Very similar story-wise: man gets kidnapped by another person and suffers both mental and physical torture. In Warehouse the victim is placed in a rape dungeon from the get-go, while in Killing Stalking he's locked in his capturers house and forced to do chores (get's worse as it goes on). Both involve man-on-man rape that is very explicit and gut-wrenching to watch/read (these are NOT love stories!!!). If you can get past all the horrific things I mentioned above, they are actually both very good psychological horror manga that focus on the dark side of human nature. It's to the victims' own benefit to form a relationship with his captor, but as time goes on and he starts accepting the situation, breaking free becomes harder and harder. Neither of these are a light read, and they're definitely not for everyone, but if you like dark stuff that heavily focus on the psychological aspect of horror, you'll enjoy these.

Both are psychological BL webtoons that are honestly really good, with interesting art and story.

Kailey310 Kailey310 says...

Another manga about power dynamics, abuse, imprisionment, and a gradual conection growing between characters

Yaoialltheway Yaoialltheway says...

Both were amazing, you fall in love with the characters, even though their actions are extreme you find yourself almost rooting for them

Ashtauriel Ashtauriel says...

Both involve trauma, mental illness/instability, Lima and/or Stockholm Syndrome, non-con, and are the kind of stories that can be better appreciated the more you re-read them, as the authors' writing styles sometimes provide important information in a disjointed manner to reflect the character's mental state.

jllybeans jllybeans says...

Both tales of love, obsession, and (often) rape, these stories will have you wondering why you're so intrigued by the main characters. You'll see the similarities throughout the stories. Killing Stalking is the much more violent story of the two, but both will tickle your need for something psychological that will potentially make you cry.

In both Korean webtoons, we have a guy who's trying to move on from the past but is confronted with it again when he's kidnapped and raped by a psychologically abnormal, sadist sociopathic or psychopathic ex from the past. While both of the kidnappers in Warehouse and Hogu Hageyongsu are one-sidedly obsessed with the main character, their flavors of craziness differ. The one in Warehouse is prone to physical violence when spurned while the one in Hogu Hagyeongsu is extremely and scarily well-versed in manipulation and the long-con game.

A factor that sets these stories apart from others is that at no point so far has our main character given into stockholm syndrome. He shows no signs that he's forgiving a captor who's really screwed up in the head and who has hurt him this much. Nonetheless, both series have stirred controversy for the extent of abuse depicted which some may consider distasteful.

Clemencia76 Clemencia76 says...

The plot is very much the same.  The main characters in each story are implied to have some connection from the past which causes their relationships.  The content is very much of the same nature, very extreme and violent.  These relationships are similar in that they are, well, not very consensual.  There are hints of mental illness in one party in the relationships.  The abuses the protagonist suffers start to take a mental and emotional toll on them as well.

YariMari YariMari says...

Both are pretty f-ed up stories where a person is taken captive by someone from their past in the name of "love". The stories feature heavy abuse and rape as the captive is slowly broken down into submission, either out of fear or stockholms syndrome.

feathertail38 feathertail38 says...

These are both about imprisonment and emotially and physically abusive relatioships. "An Easy Target" is marketed as BDSM, but it is not, there is no consent here

jllybeans jllybeans says...

In both An Easy Target and The Warehouse, you'll find someone who has moved on from someone in their past, only to find that past catch up with them and imprison them in sexually and emotionally abusive ways as they lock them inside rooms. While The Warehouse is much more intensely emotional and deep, and shows more of the events leading up to what happened, and An Easy Target is far less isolating in the imprisonment, both share enough similarities that a fan of one will likely enjoy the other.

These stories have the same "Try to remember the past" "who was I to you" the trying to escape but getting caught and ALOT of Stockholm syndrome.

Both of these sereies kick off with forced confinement, and involve characters with unresolved trauma forming unhealthy relationships

jllybeans jllybeans says...

In terms of confinement and the way that these stories both bring up elements of the past, The Warehouse and May Belongs to Me both have similar elements. However, look to May Belongs to Me if you want something much more lighthearted, and The Warehouse if you're looking for a deeply emotional read. They have very different tones, despite having some similar elements.

softsong softsong says...

Both are Korean BL webtoons with the puzzling mystery of an amnesiac hero trying to piece together the past and the present. (In Warehouse, the jury is still out on whether he is just forgetful or truly amnesiac). Our protagonist has the hunch that his captor is attempting to break him down bit by bit until he comes to depend solely on him. To survive his imprisonment, he must keep his sense of independence and understand the relationship he had in the past with is captor who is a well-built man of few words. Just what had the main character done that was so awful or captivating for his captor to be both wary and controlling?

These are stories of one-sided obsessive and possessive love to the point of insanity with repercussions many years later for both parties. The plot twists in these, especially Moritat, will mess with your mind. The flashbacks are of the mindscrew variety with unreliable narrators where at some point, they cause more questions than answers. WARNING: Warehouse has physical and sexual violence while Moritat doesn't have explicit content but still has the same dark themes.

//SPOILERS

Along the way, we see flashbacks to the younger versions of our main characters when the captor had been an innocent and vulnerable, yet psychologically unbalanced young man. Meanwhile, we start to see that our main character in flashbacks of all his selfish and manipulative glory, outside of the rosy-tinted lenses that the captor had of him when they were younger. Emotionally toying and playing around with others as if they were puppets - slowly, the reasons for the seme's twisted revenge scheme to destroy him are revealed along with the extent of his mentally unhinged state.

Deeply in love with his captive while inflicting disproportionate retribution for how the captive had played him for a fool in the past, the captor is a complicated, conflicted man. There is a strong current of hate-love feelings stemming from his love-at-first-sight encounter about at least a decade ago which had morphed more and more into hatred over the years of the power-imbalanced relationship. There is resentment for how the other party could have spurned him and cleanly ended the relationship at any time without regrets while he had everything to lose, including family approval on the line. The revenge is a chance to flip the situation and regain control where he had none before.

The question for the readers remain, had the captor's personality been twisted by how he had been treated in the past? ...Or had he always been veering close to the edge of insanity and life after being cruelly tossed aside by the love of his life had pushed him over the edge?

It’s a cruel game where the card you possess determines your class rank. Azusa has the king, the most powerful of the cards, allowing him to rule his class however ruthlessly he chooses. But all bets are off when Azusa is double-crossed, shattering his pride as he drops to target, the lowest of the ranks. Now bullied by the very people he himself mistreated, Azusa is given a choice—become the new king’s plaything…or service the entire class!

Both have an atypical main character who hates the seme and actively tries to fight back against the coercion and abuse. Stockholm syndrome is far off on the horizon with the realist-minded yet arrogant main character merely enduring his abuser and insolently provoking him to the point of physical retaliation by the seme.

Do Hyun, the protagonist of Warehouse, reminds me of what an adult version of Azusa would have been like had Azusa not gotten involved in the caste game. Do Hyun, like Azusa, showed outward flippant manipulativeness at high school and an inner survivalist mentality of scrabbling for power, not matter how tentative, in the cruel dog-eat-dog world.

Even if succeeding in the social hierarchy of high school would only be a temporary and fleeting status, Do Hyun and Azusa strive toward it as a validator of their self-worth and distractor from their financially struggling situation and poor home life. Both had figuratively step on others without empathy due to their self-centeredness. This fiercely independent attitude is responsible for their atypical behavior to their later situation of blackmail/kidnapping, a contributing factor to why they resisted attachment to their abuser.

Do Hyun and Azusa both used to have an easy life at the top of the popular crowd in high school, frivolously fooling around with girls and being respectfully deferred to by his group of male friends. He even had a male follower who was infatuated with him but this proves to be his undoing when his former follower later turns the tables and makes him his slave. Although the seme treats the main character very poorly, there are signs that there are feelings other than superiority - not quite hate, something like attachment, yet definitely not a conventional love.
