The mood in the art feels so similar somehow, and both include gangs and other things involved. both were also amazing reads i have no regrets

Lezarkween Lezarkween says...

The stories have similar athmosphere and a gangster getting involved with a "civilian" who has an actual personnality other than simply being the love interest. In both, the gangster is detached at first but gets ore and more attached.

Both series have an unsuspecting mc who gets involved with a gang member. Visually pleasing art; as well as physical features.

They both have leads with amazing chemistry and the relationships are at the similar levels of toxicity

Both have as main character a gangster-like boss with troublesome past and weird sex habbits.

I get a similar vibe from both. Both very good. Very much recommend both.

Umaianpan Umaianpan says...

Both have very dark, mature themes involving gangsters and are different to the average BL romance.

Lezarkween Lezarkween says...

Both stories involve a somewhat blasé ganster-boss uke and a somewhat more innocent devoted seme. Both stories are fantastic.

Even though the stories aren't very close (there is no love triangle in Under the Green Light), the artists have similar art styles, and the settings of the stories are similar. It feels natural to enjoy the other story if you like one of them.

Both of these are excellent, gang-themed storylines with a beautiful, similar artstyle and no clear uke/seme!

These manhwa are somehow both similar yet different. Both break the stereotype of the uke being small and/or less well-to-do; both Jin and Jaehan are badasses set on getting their way. Both manhwa also focus on a first-person narrative, which a lot of poetic tone. The art, as well, is really unique and beautifully detailed in both.

That said, the couple in Exotic Love is (so far) definitely more unhealthy than in UtGL, and the plot is focused more on redeeming that; if you're tired of the toxic relationship trope (understandable), this might not be for you. In that sense, I find UtGL to have a more original and refreshing story. The way both manhwa focus on character development in tangent with the growing relationships is rather similar and interesting, however.

In general, if you liked the tone of one of these stories, I definitely think you'd enjoy the other. They are similarily heavy yet fast-paced stories with a lot of twists. Oh yeah, and the smut is really hot.

If you love buff, assertive yakuza ukes with a few kills under their belt, or stories that avoid common BL tropes then you may like these two. Both Jin and Gozu have are similar, but just about everything else is wildly different! I love them both however.
