Lux is a former prince of an empire named Arcadia that was overthrown via a rebellion five years earlier. Lux accidentally trespasses in a female dormitory's bathing area, sees the kingdom's new princess Lisesharte naked, and incurs her wrath. Lisesharte then challenges Lux to a Drag-Ride duel. Drag-Rides are ancient armored mechanical weapons that have been excavated from ruins all around the world. Lux used to be called the strongest Drag-Knight, but now he's known as the "undefeated weakest" Drag-Knight because he will absolutely not attack in battle. After his duel with Lisesharte, Lux ends up attending the female-only academy that trains royals to be Drag-Knights.
If you want my honest opinion the story is good. Sometimes the dialogue gets confusing and overly complicated. Also some of the scenes. It’s hard to picture the layout of what’s happening often. The characters are good and have depth and evolve well... well. Mostly except the MC. He’s not an overly op MC and has a good standing in the world compared to coming out with all the powers in the world or having to train and train because it’s mostly set up in the back story where his strength comes from. He does have skill and the strength to back him up but something pretty refreshing is the extra strength he gets from his comrades. Which 90% is his harem. Which I like in all honesty... but he is such a pushover. Constantly belittled and put down over and over. I won't lie at least several examples every 5 ch he will be called something empire related and negative and or handyman prince in also a negative way, and it makes you think him a coward often and it’s upsetting not just because he takes it but because the thoughts and emotions you'll be reading after. There’s way to much hesitation and him acting like has no choice but to be kicked around which sometimes is really odd he'll stand up in the most mysterious of places catching you off guard but standing down in most of the most obvious ones. Yea some things do change as the story progresses but along with him being overly surprised and screaming “EEEeErEE!” At least once per chapter he will be put down at least twice the amount and per chapter. Also he will repeat information word per word back often. Misunderstandings will 98% of the time will go unresolved that information you put at the back of your head waiting to be brought back up Probally will never be brought back up again 🤷🏻♂️. The mysteries cliff hangers and plot come through really well and are enjoyable I will give it that. Also one overused "thing" for this novel and fantasy genre in general "IMO" is where 90% of characters are all hostile to the mc in the beginning. Don't get me wrong several disappear and are never seen again but more often than not if they aren't a straight up antagonist they will be turned to an aly if not neutral in the end... but honestly Where “my” problems with the demeanor of the MC come into play the rest of the characters or story make up well. Good enough that I’ve watched the anime countless times. Read the manga and loved the artwork and character designs so much. And this is my second reading of the novel. Also I love the ending except for wanting even more. I've never loved a harem as much besides maybe having date a love and re:zero as a 2nd and 3rd. Also Krulcifer/Lisesharte/airi/noct/yoruka/aeril in that order krulcifer being slim attractive small chest on a taller body, slightly kudere the ribbon just works. Her cold attitude calculating and smooth and a background that makes her a lot more lovable lisesharte being slim build but having a larger chest size works for that frame fantastically. Not usually into the tsun characters much but she's so clumsy and awkward that it's adorable and dependable. Her attitude sometimes is a bit over the top but she's loyal to a fault. Airi is a total bro con with my favorite hair color and is a beautiful character loyal and will throw it all away for her brother. Short and modest in all aspects noct is a straight Kudere and when she gets embarrassed it works so well. Similar to krulcifer in a lot of aspects but I mean.. Mariam I right? yoruka is a loyal servant with a tragic past who is top notch as the mc's strength and loyal to a dangerous degree. Yandere anyone? Attractive and voluptuous her style is also desirable in her design it works well. Her devotion is also admirable aeril I won't say much on back ground but as also a family member and mysterious she shares in another characters characteristics that I find desirable she also has a lovable personality sorry like I said. Favorite harem.
