Elfen Lied

Elfen Lied

In the near future, some girls are born mutated. Known as Diclonius, this new species is believed to have been chosen by God to wipe out mankind. Unlike regular humans, Diclonius have two horns on their head and ‘vectors' - invisible ‘hands.' Contained within a research facility unknown to the world, the Diclonius are experimented upon mercilessly; many die or develop a hate for mankind. One such creature, Lucy, is said to be the first of the Diclonius. She escapes from the facility, but while fleeing she takes a bullet to the head and is seemingly killed. However, it seems Lucy isn't quite dead yet; she's instead developed an alternate personality called Nyuu. She's washed up on a shore where two people, Kouta and Yuka, find her and bring her home, unaware that such a monster still lurks within Nyuu.

The supernatural tales of two female individuals trying to go about their every day lives while relying on a seemingly weaker male character is what you get in both Tsukihime and Elfin Lied.  The reader will uncover the mysteries of the characters past seeing how it will effect their relationships in the future.

The aspect that I found most striking between Tsukihime and Blood + was the fact that both of the main characters lost parts of their memories.  The journey in each series of how they are able to overcome these difficulties and strive for what they are looking for is heartfelt for each character.

Sola and Tsukihime both have male protagonists in the series trying to help out the main female character, who has a unnatural ability.  The heroes try and protect that female character from the things that are after them, creating chaos and drama.  Both series have a sense of romance between the main characters.

Even though Tsukihime has some supernatural basis it still has the same realistic romance feeling that Aquarian Age manages to capture between the characters.  There is no comedy or antics in these two series just the pure unbidden love between two people that really care about one other and just how much their love means to them.

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Chapter 1: A Day in the Capital

Subaru Natsuki was just trying to get to the convenience store but wound up summoned to another world. He encounters the usual things--life-threatening situations, silver haired beauties, cat fairies--you know, normal stuff. All that would be bad enough, but he's also gained the most inconvenient magical ability of all--time travel, but he's got to die to use it. How do you repay someone who saved your life when all you can do is die?

This review recommends to all Re:Zero Titles and Tsukihime.I believe that these two are similarly written. If the main characters do not know somethings, the reader won't either. I feel like the protagonists of the story are pretty similar. Subaru and Shiki are willing to do anything including giving up their life for the one they love. While one is actually strong enough to protect them, the other is willing to die more than 1000 times for it. They both have their strengths and aren't exactly the same, but that's obvious as they are not the same. They both are emotionally strong and I respect that. Their desire to know is also clearly seen in both Titles. Now Emilia, and Arcueid both felt and might be feeling eternal loneliness. They both lived a long time shunned and alone. Of course up until they meet the MC. Anyways, My point is If you liked one, you would like the other. Both are written in dark themes and have pretty similar characters.

Crimezone

Crimezone

The people of Earth live in a society where vampires aren’t just real but dangerous. Although humanity has been able to keep them under control and even take the night away as the vampire’s natural habitat, some of them have adapted. Hesperides, a relatively new breed of vampires, have adapted over hundreds of years in order to be able to go outside during dusk when the sunlight is at its weakest and feast on humans. Aburaya Shiro, a high school kid, lives in a town where there has not been a vampire attack in years, but adults keep warning them of going outside at dusk. Shiro and his classmates take this warning lightly and head out at dusk only to find out that one of their friends is a Hesperides. With all his peers violently murdered, the only way Shiro was able to survive was with the help of another, Ichijoji Eruka, who doesn’t seem to be human herself.
