I like how Silver Spoon and Toretate Crazy are mangas about agricultural practices. It's a shame though that Toretate Crazy is only a oneshot. I actually liked how the guy MC gushes over farming. He reminds me of Bakarina from Death Flag Otome since they're both agricultural freaks (meant it in a good way btw). While Toretate Crazy is mainly focused on the possible love story between a beauty (who had insecurity complex after she overheard the person she likes call her boring), Silver Spoon delivers a more well rounded approach. Both are definitely worth the time to read.
Wild, and bound by nothing, the large-framed young man Taiji returns to his home town for the first time in 10 years, where the main industry is dairy farming. In the mountain forest that is his inheritance from his grandfather, Taiji - with a sidelong glance for the dairy farmers around him, who blithely proceed to industrialize the act of obtaining the breast milk of the creatures known as cows - settles into his own pace to begin the process of setting up his own farm.
Her dad, remarried, has moved Inageshi from the city to the country side village of Ogawara where agriculture is very abundant. As a new member of the Nozawa family, she learns the ins and outs of farming which Inageshi finds exciting. But what is more incredible is having new sisters in her life. Yashiro is the oldest, beautiful and seems innocent but has a wild side to her. Mayu is vibrant and vocal but is scared to death of insects. Ringo is the youngest but by far the brains of the group and is an encyclopedia of important and sometimes unimportant information. Their sisterly bonds are still little saplings but with each day passing it becomes stronger
Kuze Shunpei, a high-school student, is on spring break going to Hokkaidou when he loses his wallet. Stranded in the mountains with no money and his motorcycle having run out of gas, he passes out in the snow on the side of the road. When he wakes up he finds that he's been saved and brought to the Watarai farm, a horse ranch that breeds race horses. There he meets a host of various people, ranging from stable hands to the owner and his family (which includes four daughters). Shunpei is completely unsuited for the farm life, and his city upbringing contrasts sharply with the hard labor required to help the farm out. Yet despite all this, he tries his best to become accepted.
20-year-old university student, Sara Moritani, rushes back to the countryside to help her grandfather with his farm after he’s been injured. At first, she was frightened by Minori’s intimidating demeanor. But after discovering many surprising sides to him, she could feel love taking roots within her heart. On the other side of the relationship, Minori finds himself attracted to Sara. But due to their age difference, he finds it difficult to express his feelings to her... Thus begins a pure and touching love story between these two awkward lovebirds.
