Time Paradox Ghostwriter tells the story of aspiring mangka, Teppei Sasaki. One fateful day, lightning strikes his house and suddenly his fridge, microwave, and toy robot meld together to form...a time machine, of course! This time machine sends him Weekly Shounen Jump from 10 years in the future. After reading the debut chapter of a "perfect manga," he starts to draw the storyboard for that chapter from memory. The next day, he submits that storyboard to the publishing company as his own work. The result? He is told that he is a genius for the first time in his life and that they would publish it as a one-shot! After receiving great reviews for his plagiarism, what will he do when he comes face to face with the future creator of the manga he stole? This was a super-fast read for me. I got sucked into the mind of Sasaki, trying to analyze why he did what he did. The cast of characters is also super small, so it's an easy story to follow. The pacing for the story felt too fast for me, like it was coming to an end from chapter one. There were also some not so subtle moments where information was just explicitly stated. Despite those elements, the story was just so unique feeling! Loved the comedy! Loved all of the art! The twists and turns were wonderful. Despite the lackluster ending, I definitely would read again.
