The Villainess Refuses to Court the Male Lead

Transmigrating as the villainess of a cliché imperial manhua isn't scary, what's scary is that the male leads are all children! Not only do I have to take care of children, but I'm also being courted by one of them and being called "wife"!

(Story may briefly contain, Pedop*ila, Child Ab*se, Groom*ng (Also spoilers) *EDITED* Not for me, but I do see comments under the manga pages saying how it's funny and a great story. I'm assuming these are children, but if they were not minors...umm someone call the FBI. I think minors from the age of 12-17 let these things go over their heads, but to bring you a bit more into reality, the original character was a disgusting monster and needed her whole body and soul to die. Unfortunately, a new soul was reincarnated into her 'new and younger' body just as she finished killing the children. I'm shock the reincarnated soul didn't have a mental breakdown nor PTSD from what she witnessed. It was said that she was a teacher at a school, and logically what average human with an average job will not literally scream to death after you saw corpses. The aftermath of everything was so unusual and unnatural. She then grabs a boy who looks like a pre-teen and rushed to the closes people she could find and ask for their help since the boy still has a pulse. With a few arguments, the boy was finally rescued. Turns out, the little boy was a 13-year-old boy she failed to kill, well the original soul failed. It gets even more disturbing. As the reincarnated soul was resting she has a dream which was actually a flashback of what happened when the original soul tried to kill the boy. The original soul was taunting the little boy saying how she will give him a chance to escape before the incense burned out since the little boy said he won't try. End of the dream since the female character had woken up from the 13-year-old boy straddling her with his hands around her throat. The reincarnated soul then panics and switch their positions. Now, this is what made me feel disgusted and thrown off. The female "lead" is now straddling on top of a child, with booty shorts on, as he is laying there shirtless. And not only that, but she even had the nerve to throw her whole body onto him and hug him. Wtf- the way I'm describing this may not sound that dramatic, but the visuals- I can't hold in my throw-up.  We then see a woman coming in which we automatically assume is a worker, and she started talking about how the lady should join a school. But then gets interrupted once she saw the reincarnated soul straddling the little boy. The visuals made it look so erotic and I find that disgusting. The worker then says something over the lines of "Omg! I didn't know you were with your husband!". Um, what? Like obviously the boy is a child. The reincarnated soul then replies something over the lines "It's not what it looks like! A misunderstanding!" This is a very disturbing misunderstanding! But it gets even darker! The worker then replies "Master, you clearly said that our sects doctrine is  'carpe diem' and that we shouldn't let age or sex hold back our desires...". And says how she always"play" with little boys. I stopped reading. Nope. This is not for me.

Currently on Chapter 43: There really aren't many spoilers in my review other than the general knowledge one can immediately get after reading the first few chapters-- but you're warned anyways So I'm incredibly conflicted on how I want to word this review-- as a 24 year old woman (since that seems to be a requirement to validate one's review 🙄). The review listed with this title by Loversday points out a slew of red flags regarding how the characters were made and developed (i.e., concerns of grooming, pedophilia, and child abuse) based on the first few chapters. A big reason I am making my own review is to offer a different perspective that I feel is more developed and isn't so shallow. Take it as you will. I'll start off by saying that I love flawed characters. Being able to develop a person as something more than just a "big bad guy" is sometimes difficult, because there has to be some human element to it. If you don't, then the flaws can be written off as sloppy writing, and I hate that. In regards to the Villainess's origional soul, Hong Chi, I would say that the author makes it apparent that she's the scum of the earth. When the mc, Bai Xiaochi, is transmigrated into a the villainess's body, she immediately takes in the situation and makes quick decisions to save the life of a boy that she would feel guilty of losing. As a reader looking in, we already are aware of the horrid things a villain such as Hong Chi would do, so Bai Xoaochi knows that the loss of life is unavoidable here is unavoidable-- but she still makes the effort to save the only boy she could find still breathing. When she is able to nurse him back to health, out of guilt of knowing what Hong Chi has done, she gives him the ability to leave. I'll admit that the author used piss poor humor in terms of making fun of serious topics that need TW. That should have been made 100% apparent. Do I fault the entire series for that right now? No. As I'm writing this, I'm pretty much up-to-date on the content. The memes I can grab from this is SSS tier and the characters all have their own given personalities and develop and overcome their struggles. It was an easy refreshing take that didn't feel rushed and didn't feel like it was focusing on a character for too long. The story felt pretty balanced with characters that felt real. The desire to stay young, to do anything and everything to prosper your own clan, to see how far you're willing to push your morals and values to obtain what you want is so incredibly interesting to me. Again, I love flawed characters rather than getting pretty ones who can do no wrong. So, what do I think? I think it's a series that's worth a read. I'd suggest reading up to Ch 8-10 and deciding if it's something you want. I'm not a big fan of manhuas, but this is one that I feel happy that I picked up. I hope this review offered a different perspective on this title. ☺️
