The Soulless Duchess - Reviews

Honestly really disappointing. The plot is okay. Typical betrayed by family and fiancé which I'm fine with what comes after is the annoying part. The title is Soulless Duchess meaning that the female lead should feel empty to have a cold personality yet she seems like every other female lead. The characteristic that was supposed to set her apart is nonexsistent and she actually is more generic than any other shoujo mangas/manhwas. There are no sudden personality twists in the other characters (as well as unexpected plot holes) either which make the whole manhwa boring. Would not recommend unless you're feeling extremely bored with nothing to read.

Yes autors make their MC unique here it is that she is a summoner but everything is same as in every other story. Early story doesnt make much sence and i was asking myself jsut why u do this... i read some webtoon romace and i can tell that at core they all are same hell even on top characters feel same thinking same and this story isnt different. People think that MC is trash and then she shows them her power and they start liking her. Lovestory is totaly retarded  they get married so they dont need to think about what sociality thinks about them they dont like each other in one chapter and in second they love each other and again and again and there is no development in it. after 60 chapters they say after whole day walking and bearly any talking hey how about we actually love each other and they fell in real  love/relationship with each other.

As far as art goes all females have same face even in one pic there was a girl that hase totally identical face as MC even eyes were same. MC sometimes have her face drawen kinda like aline and so i dont even want to think about more...

Characters are only thing that saving this. Some side characters are written kinda good for example her ex fiance is total a**h*** but he fits in  and story makes me hate him for what he is. But the best character of all is bird yes smale red bird that "protecting MC" sadly he hasnt much lines here but those he have are rly enyoable and he maked me laughted once witch is sad coe it was only once that i acctualy smiled or thought something is funny in whole story :(

Overall if you new to asian comicses you might like this one more or if you like romance webtoons then it could easly be 7/10. But if you look at it overall there are just way tooo many mistakes that holding this on avrage spot. So if you want to enyo it dont think much and dont focus on pictures so much.

The story is okay but Yvona is so painfully dull in every way and when writers make their characters too goody-goody they just come across as try-hards. I can only ever imagine her talking completely in monotone, the ML isn't much more interesting either. 

To put it shortly, this story is a typical contract marriage ("we wont fall in love) romance manga but with a pretty interesting plot, thought kinda 2D characters (especially the villains). Let's talk about everything separately:

Story: I really like the plot, the beginning is pretty cliche and easy to predict but the story deepens and there are many new elements added to the story (SPOILER: communication with divine/magice beings, other magical things etc). That really kept me on the edge and going.

If you're looking for a simple vanilla or "it's all about us/our relationship" manga, this is not for you. There's more to this story than the marriage of the FL and ML. That being said, this is a slow burn romance (with little surprises - ehem, progress - along the way).

Art: The art was pretty bad at first, especially went it came to the ML (he looked pretty horrible) but it gets better as you read further (just like the story). I like the way the magical beasts are drawn and, as I am not an artist, I will say that I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Characters: This is the part that bothers me the most. Even though both the protagonists' and villains' backstories were shown (and they were understandable on both sides), the antagonists act ridiculously. They seem not to understand the harm in reckless actions. It just feels like they have brains and are planning everything perfectly but once the FL intervenes and tries to stop them they suddenly lose all their braincells and make poor choices. Like, give the MCs a hard time for once, please?

And so, it doesnt feel like our FL even has a real enemy as strong as her, which is pretty frustrating to see.

Overall, I recommend this manga to readers who enjoy contract marriage mangas with magical elements and plot than thickens with time. In my opinion, it's not the best one out there but it's worth giving a try since, even if you wont like it so much, it wont be a complete waste of time. Enjoy! :)

it had so much potential,the art is good and the revenge could be so so much better...the principal characters are ok but not presented right so we can't really understand them,the ML falls for MC for no reason,the way the story progress is really messy...the cute moments are the only thing i can save from it
