Western historical aesthetics crosses with Eastern culture and aesthetics. School literal prince and misunderstood rebel that just wants friends. It's interesting and they're quite cute, but the pacing has room for improvement. While the pacing isn't neck-breaking plot reveal after plot reveal as some other manhuas, the stuff that happens is still too dramatic and fast to my liking. There are also some moments that I don't understand, like...SPOILERS... The rebel holds up the prince in a room after receiving a dog leash as a mocking present. And somehow, the rebel thinks it's appropriate to invade someone's personal space and bite them on the neck. And then somehow there are journalists outside waiting for the prince's grand reveal interview or something. 1) How did the rebel get in the prince's room? 2) I understand fan service and that the rebel sucks at social skills, but come on, getting up that close will be considered creepy if he weren't handsome 3) Wtf is with the dramatic timing of journalists waiting for a surprise interview. Isn't the attendant supposed to knock and confirm or something? Also, the childhood lovers trope *hunches over and coughs to tears in laughter* Rant over. Other than the forced dramatic plots and cringy fan service (hey, I like fan service too, but not when it comes from ignorant personal space invasion), the story's quite cute and interesting. It's not an unsalvageable story by any means, but it does suffer from over-dramatic plot and drama that plague manhuas. The setting is more than enough to pull me back into the story though. I am also quite fond of the righteous soft-hearted rebel, and characters that try to match-make the prince and the rebel. The art is also pretty (love the outfits). So I'll still read it, just not as something that I'd seek out myself. It's like if I happen to see an update, I'll read just to read.
