The Reincarnated Princess Craves Common People Food

The daughter of a Duke, Cristea, remembers her past life as a Japanese office worker upon eating a specific dish. Even though she was living a life without any inconvenience as the princess, ever since she got her memory back, she has had an unquenchable desire to eat Japanese food! Finally she decides to look for the ingredients to cook them herself! But as she enjoys the tastes of the common people, rumors of her being a "princess who eats repulsive things" begin to circulate...? This is a gourmet fantasy about a reincarnated princess scrambling for food every day.

Guilty pleasure read that will certainly be loved by a specific group of people. Unfortunately, I do not belong to that group. I was really excited to read this since it was an isekai story about creating Japanese food. And it did meet that. Just that. Nothing else. The main character is an uber special kid who experiences literally no issues or consequences in her life. They're the Japanese equivalent of a Mary Sue - capable, quiet, respectable, and loved by all. Stories like this cater to people who are after this exact trope. Since it's not my type of content, this didn't meet my standards. I really don't enjoy the fact that she gets everything she wants with no pushback or difficulty from other people. Her family prohibits her from cooking because it's not befitting a noble lady? She feeds them and everything's forgotten. Two noble holy beasts are fighting to become her familiar? No worries, both of you can be the FLs holy beasts. The kingdom disapproves of her cooking methods? The crown prince, sent to control her, ends up falling in love with her. No consequence! No nothing!  The author, who clearly loves Japanese food, should know better. Adding a little spice can help highlight the qualities of the dish, elevating tastes and flavors in ways that they could never do on their own. Similar to creating a story, some conflict would help develop the characters and explore internal thoughts that a smooth-flowing story could never do. Not a bad read, just not for me. You can give it a try if you're interested in a more cooking-centered plot point. Dropped at Chapter 8.
