Anoth, the Demon King of Tyranny, has defeated humans, spirits, and gods alike. But even demon kings get tired of all the fighting sometimes! Hoping for a more peaceful life, Anoth decides to reincarnate himself. When he wakes two thousand years later, though, he finds the world has become too peaceful - his descendants have grown weak and magic is in serious decline. Intending to reclaim his rightful place, he enrolls in Demon King Academy, where he finds that his magical power is off the charts. Literally. And because they can't measure his power, the faculty and other students regard Anoth as a misfit. With the support of Misha, the one student he manages to befriend, the misfit (Demon King) begins his climb up the demon ranks!

Oh god, this is hilarious. I don't know why, but every time Anoth just straightforwardly says that he's the reincarnated Demon King (which he is), it cracks me up. And the way that his parents act easily creates some of the funniest scenes. "The only one who can oppose me in this era may be my mother," Anoth says at one point, commenting on how even Demon Lords aren't entirely immune to the embarrassment caused by parents. So the basic idea is that the Demon King Academy was set up to recognize the Demon King once he's reincarnated. But when the actual reincarnated Demon King shows up, he's not recognized as such. But he doesn't much mind. He'll just dominate everyone into subservience and eventually they'll come to realize that he's their founder and king. Or they won't. Again, he doesn't much care either way; he just does what he does. It seems the story will have him slowly build an army of followers, possibly all female and possibly all his future wives. So far he's met Misha and Sasha. I don't really find Misha's emotionless, doll-like look to be cute. And I don't care for the cutesy, sisterly hand-holding and breast-bonking Misha and Sasha engage in. They've set it up so there's a nice, solid conspiracy which needs unraveling, so the story should be able to maintain my interest for a good while. [Reviewed at chapter 12]
Once upon a time, there was a man, who obliterated human countries, burned the forest of spirits to ashes and even killed Gods. The man was feared as the demon lord. However, even a demon lord gets tired of the horrors of war and proposes the heroes, who have come to negotiate with him, to kill him, split the world into four: the human world, the demon world, the spirits world, the world of the Gods, to build walls between the worlds, and to seal their gates for 1000 years. After 1000 years, the grudges between demons and humans should disappear. 2000 years after the demon king has finally been reborn and the new world truly shocks him. How has the world changed in 2000 years? Imagine the frustration of the strongest magical creature, the world has ever known, to find out that the world he is reborn in has very weak magic. But that does not worry the demon king, since all he wanted was to stop the war. Anyways, the strongest magician and the demon lord Voldigoad Anos tries to research the new world and gets an invitation to an academy that should determine the demon lord. Anos is not the only one to get the invitation, there is a great number of promising students among those, who are expected to enroll this year- so many that they have been called the generation of chaos. And so, a one month old kid, who has become a teenager in no time with the help of a magic spell, leaves his home and enrolls at Demon King Academy. Character wise, while they do seem to be a bit cliché, it is not as annoying as in some manga. The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History's Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants has decent characters that are interesting to follow. I would, however, appreciate if there were more characters, but that has not been that much of a problem. Anyways, The Misfit of Demon King Academy is getting an anime adaptation in July, 2020. It somewhat reminds me of One Punch Man, but, at the same time, these are absolutely different series. The Misfit of Demon King Academy is quite nice manga to read: good humor, fanservice is hardly noticeable, the story makes sense and the art is pleasant. With that being said, this is a quite good manga and an anime series that can be quite interesting, if adapted correctly.
