Note: no hint of romance here, as of chapter 28, and perhaps I'd prefer it stays that way. I love the strong and funny FL. She's a competent vet who does everything in her power to treat her patients. I love her determination, genuine care, and love for capitalism lol. The story doesn't make her strongness in your face, actually. She's written like a shounen protagonist, where things just happen and she deals with it to the best she can.

The character relationships are so funny and wholesome too. I love all the characters that appear. The dragons, "cat", werewolf, fox, employee, rabbit, etc. have natural relationships with the protagonist. They talk like friends would, and I really love that dynamic.

A lot of stories just give us an occupation and make that a side plot in favour of romance or something else as the main plot. This is different. I could really get a sense of what FL does in her everyday vet life and the author's love for animals. The story really involves the vet aspect, and that's something I like to see.

There are chapters that make me cry and chapters that make me laugh so hard. It's a well-written and well-paced story. It keeps my attention at all times.

I really enjoy the fantasy aspect as well. Great illustrations! Love its colours.

Give it a try. First chapter already made me laugh my head off, metaphorically. It is such a rare treat to find a fantasy story with a female protagonist, with romance not being the center of the story!!! Please recommend me some similar stories, if you know of some.

Stories that involve animals within a fantasy setting are my weakness however, I'm almost always wary with them. Usually, the FLs are created to be some type of Mary Sue character, whose powers absolve her from any crime or tension in the story as well as leaving her devoid of any personality. The animals don't feel real and they seem like a step above the trees in the background, which I hated.

But this one - oh, I already knew this was good from the first chapter alone.

The FL is amusing because of how human she is. As the owner of a suffering veterinary practice, she willingly accepts a case despite how strange the situation was because she was really desperate for cash. Girl, same. I felt that in my bones. This leads her to meeting fantastical creatures in both Korean and Western mythologies.

Now, meeting fantasy creatures would be difficult to incorporate into a story without completely breaking the reader's suspension of disbelief but the author wrote this so well. The fantasy creatures are woven into society, hiding through illusions but still doing the jobs which they were known for.

The choice of animals for some creatures were quite creative and I love seeing each new introduction to the story. They bring a unique story and opportunity for the FL to grow into becoming a better person, in both her practice and as a person. We have a dragon, fox, shinigami, werewolf, and a talking cat among her menagerie circle of friends so far but that won't be the end of it.

Okay, that's all well and good but that gets tiring after a while. The author and the artist did one thing flawlessly which actually lead me to sleeping at 4 AM trying to finish all available chapters.

It's realism.

Realism in what it takes to be a vet - the difficult decisions in pet care that they encounter in their field of practice, the complexities in each case and pet that they have to consider, the struggle to get patients and how they're almost always undervalued for something they worked their entire lives to achieve.

There were a few stories here that had me sobbing into my pillow and for me, that sold the story to me. It's not just a story, it's quite educational as well especially for those who are or were pet owners.

This is one of my all-time favorite manhwas for how deftly the stories were told, mixing humor, realism, and fantasy in equal portions that you don't notice yourself falling in love with the characters until you're in too deep.

Reviewed at Chapter 50.

Still ongoing so perhaps my opinion might change but... (also there is romance, more on that later)

Story is pretty good, although there isn't really a "driving" plot device. It's a bit slice of life in that aspect, where the MC goes about her daily life and takes on challenges when it comes upon her. Weirdly enough, it reminds me of an mmorpg questline? The people around her and herself gets stronger as they meet new patients and encounter enemies.

The MC is strong-willed, loves her job, and is relatable! Whenever she suddenly changes her mind to take on a patient because of a large money reward, honestly I don't blame her lol.

The side characters aren't my favorite (looking at the fox girl I forgot the name of) but they're developed and even though they all have unique personalities, they work well together. Also there's a side couple so I'm afraid that yes, there is some romance. There's also some attempted(?) romance for the MC at the current chapters (70s ish) but who knows how it'll play out. Although I'm betting my left toe that they'll end up as a couple.

Soooooo TLDR;

A nice fun and casual read with pretty good art, lots of hilarious scenes, and a tons of legendary beasts needing a hospital lol
