ADM356 ADM356 says...

Both these mangas focus on gamification of life in their own styles and both are quite good having a single main character fighting his way to the top.

Very simular in alot of ways both taking a videogame like power main character and both mcs have powers that are completlety op and unfair.

They both have a since of a mmo like leveling system and they are both badass. Period... I mean what else is there to say about it.

iLive4Anime iLive4Anime says...

They really are similar in the fact that they both have the ability as a "gamer". I am currently up to datw with both and manga and webtoon and they both are really good. Even though The Gamer is more like on the light side of things and Solo is more on the mature bloody side, but I love it so much.

but one thing that i don't like in this manhwa, well it's about the main character and the others character, i dont like that the gamer can give others the same power as his power, it makes it boring

It's the same concept between both; the main character gains video game-like upgrading abilities and grow stronger as the series goes on.

Its nearly the same. But with good character development than Solo leveling. Iam not ralking about main characters. World developing is weak in both of them. Also MC is Rich. Both are OP and have game menu. I recommend this

The mc is good with games that he actually got the two important skills of a gamer, both the gamer's mind and body. pretty interesting I recommend it after solo leveling. Although first mc may not be strong eventually he levels up and acquire skills with just in a second by skill book. I like it

marj05 marj05 says...

Both gamer vibes and MC starts off weak. I think The Gamer is more a light hearted one though

Masacy Masacy says...

Both protagonists have a game system in real life to level up and get really strong. Both MC are weak at the beginning and get stronger at a fast pace.

UnluckySituation UnluckySituation says...

In both MC:

-> Are RPG elemnts (inventory, skills, leveling)-> Are start as weak but he keep leveling and in that time is geting stronger-> Have uniqe ability

Lionmaster15 Lionmaster15 says...

Another pair where both of these manhwas are a mixture of games and reality. Solo leveling is more serious while the gamer is more of a go with the flow type of manhwa but they are both gems in their own right.

GoldenGrace GoldenGrace says...

Protagonist enters a game system based life and start leveling up until discovers that there's even more to this universe than just luck and coincidence

Both can access to a game menu in real life. and it's an original ability that only they have in the world

RoyalOss RoyalOss says...

The Gamer is about a boy gaining powers like he is in a video game. While he has fun grinding his powers he is also training to become stronger to protect hisself.

The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor is about a boy who is great in a game and decides to sell his game character off for A LOT of money. Unfortunally loan sharks get away with his money so he enters a new virtual reality game to become the best and sell his account off again.

Despite the different settings both have the same gaming aspects, both trying to learn everything about their powers and both trying to become stronger by leveling up and training their skills. Legendary Moonlight starts out pretty serious but once he enters the game the atmosphere is light and funny just as with The Gamer.

HatsOffToAll HatsOffToAll says...

These two are very alike. The only real difference is that in 'The Gamer' the rpg characteristics are integrated into the main characters life whereas in the 'Legendary Moonlight Sculptor' it's a game he plays to try and earn money to get him familly out of debt. Both books have dungeons, monsters, levels and friends that they party with. I strongly reccomend this book if you liked 'The Gamer'.

RazielRMA RazielRMA says...

These two seem very similar to eachother even though they are very different stories. I'm looking forward to how the legendary moonlight sculptor plays out. Wish they wouldn't draw it out quite so much.

Lionmaster15 Lionmaster15 says...

Another pair where both of these mangas are a mixture of games and reality. Both of these have a fair amount of humor to them while still being filled with action. Time to grind. 😉

IderliSouza IderliSouza says...

Ambos são sobre jogos. Entretanto, a temática é bem diferente com the gamer estando em um ambiente urbano enquanto "the legendary moonlight sculptor" focando em um ambiente medial/fantasia.

Flacoache12 Flacoache12 says...

Well even though the idea and overall story may differ the way certain things progress is the same. In the end both characters are similar, more so in the beginning of the gamer, and are creative enough. Although their creativity makes them good strategically others are good at it to and we're not made stupid with the purpose of making mc look smarter. You know what I mean.

Similar premise where MC gains gamer abilities and is able to grow and gain new abilities through the game-like system. Both start off fairly weak but grow stronger through gaining skill points and such.

BlackQuest BlackQuest says...

Im just love them both so im gonna just recommend them both as they are very good similar op MC characters and just very enjoyable.

UnluckySituation UnluckySituation says...

Both MC:

-> Have skills like from RPG (same kind spell etc.)-> After time they are outstanding cuz they have ability that don't have limit-> After time both make aliance/gulidIn both:-> Are dungeons, level progression, -> Reward for clear dungeons (in Gammer are drop from monsters)

dmnphlps dmnphlps says...

Further into the story, it can be seen how both follow a similar pattern when they fight enemies.

AntiTitan AntiTitan says...

the main characters of the stories are both cheated magic users but for different reasons. I recommend these two webtoons.

They are both about introverts that turn their lives into games and level up. If you like the idea of people being represented with levels, quests, and so on give either a read. They're both full color and game themed.

zno zno says...

Both of them have the same theme (life becoming a game (or the other way)) but DICE do it a more serious way whereas the gamer take the road of complete fun.

Plus, both are webtoons.

orca orca says...

Different Interpretations of roughly the same theme. The idea of life as a game and earned skill points contibuting towards the characters' attributes.

The Gamer is very MMO or RPG in nature and (atleast so far) quite light hearted.

DICE is more serious in nature, especially with the theme of high school bullying.

I have read dungeon reset twice and I have read  chapter 75 of the gamer so far (x2) cause I restarted and both times remind me for each other because they both use their brain and gamer like abilities to get through stuff and (went from weak to strong)

JarifKhan JarifKhan says...

They both have similarities such as -

# Weak to Strong

# Both MCs have similar behaviors; though they have been put through different hardships and have diff goals. So you may not feel that they are exact characters or something.

# MCs has gamer ability and dungeons. One is an op with primarily magical ability but also with his hand-to-hand and production ability & the other one with primarily production ability but also with his hand-to-hand and magical ability. (If you want hand-to-hand primary then solo leveling is perfect for you)

# They both explore their abilities in details

# Light comedy

# They use their unique way of thinking and intelligence to solve their problems

# Etc.

They have unique circumstances so you wouldn't feel they are copies of each other ether.

ENJOY!!!!!

Chairrypie Chairrypie says...

Both are somehow related to the game theme and have MCs with some sort of OP skill/ability. In the case of the Gamer it's his gamer ability while in overlord, all his skills are pretty much more powerful compared to anyone else in the series.

The gamer and tower of god are both manwha hosted on the well known Korean website naver.com. They both have a similar "webtoon" art syle. Both have a sense of adventure and magic. Tower of God has more nuance in the plot and relationships of characters, and the gamer is more funny. The gamer can get a little repetitive, whereas tower of god's pacing always seems like there is something major going on. Both are great mawha and a lot of fun, although Tower of God is better written.
