Such a amazing novel istg. some people hate slow burns but honestly it makes this novel so much better!!! every small romantic moment would make me squeal and every funny moment would make me laugh while tearing up LOLOLOL! i recommend you to read this if you're more focused on more adventure and action than romance and also if you like some complicated smart thinking stuff LMAO〒▽〒 i swear Tang Mo could go to Harvard or something

I genuinely can't explain how much I love this novel, it earned a special place in my heart. The action in it is really strong, and the mystery of how the whole black tower world works kept me wanting to keep reading till the very end. There was never really a dull or boring moment. It's packed with just the right amount of humor too, making me laugh out loud many times. While the romance is technically there, this is a long slowburn so if you came here just for that, you'll have to be patient. Although personally I much prefer slowburns, so when the love intrests finally got together at the end it felt very natural to me and not forced at all. Even so, they both still have cute moments together throughout. Most of the side characters didn't stay for too long, but the ones who appeared more often I liked very much. Especially Bai Ruoyao, I kept switching from hating the man to absolutely loving him. The MC himself is very smart and not a wimp, his ability may seem too strong but paired with his fairly bad luck I didn't feel like he was too OP or anything. So if you're looking for a BL that's more focused on action and adventure and less on the romance, I highly recommend reading this.
