God, this is such a slog to read through. What about this did the author think would be interesting? The MC says, "this is getting interesting" at the end of the first chapter, but just having a character say that something is interesting doesn't actually make it interesting. There's no tension or challenges the MC has to overcome. There's no meaningful antagonists or rival characters. It feels like the author is just following the tropes and patterns of other similar series without really understanding what it takes to create a good story. Even the fights are just splashy with no real substance. It tries to portray the MC as outwitting other people, but does an extremely poor job of making it feel like an actual battle of wits or even that there's any sort of cleverness going on. A big reason for that is that it's more interested in getting to the next fight scene and basically just glosses over the thought processes. Another big part of that is that the MC just feels shallow as fuck, so it feels contrived when the author tries to push the idea that the MC did something clever. I also feel like the author doesn't spend enough time on world-building and instead just falls back on some of the expected ideas from this genre. It's a fighting manhwa, but where the fights are won far too easily to be engaging. It's a revenge manhwa, but where the readers aren't also given the opportunity to grow to hate the object of revenge and where the object of revenge is far too broad and nonspecific (as far as I can tell, the MC has a beef against all gods). It's a power-ramping manhwa, but where the power-ups feel given to the MC rather than earned. It's just...it's not good. That said, the artwork is pretty nice. It's full color and has actual perspective and detail in the backgrounds. The way the action sequences are drawn falls in line with others of this genre, but it's a decent enough style. The biggest problem is that the characters feel stiff. It will also repeat images, which is a lazy choice that I don't appreciate as a reader.  [Reviewed at chapter 13]
