The Breaker: Eternal Force

Haje Kang can’t take it anymore. Pushed to the breaking point by relentless bullying, Haje stands at the edge of the school roof, ready to end it all. But just as he’s about to jump, he’s given a push -- literally -- by a mysterious upperclassman named Si-un Lee, only to wake up the next day, unscathed. Little does Haje know that Si-un happens to be one of the most powerful martial artists in the Murim, the hidden world of martial arts. Haje begs Si-un to train him, but he never could have imagined just how tumultuous things could get in the martial arts underworld…

An unmitigated disappointment to people who waited years to see the third continuation of Shi-woon's story. The art and the story have both taken a nosedive. The story sometimes hits interesting beats but its decision to rethread the ground of the first Breaker series with an entirely different characters who's 'actually talented' unlike shi-woon and makes Shi-woon's survival of the murim and his sensei's techniques seem less impressive because he also manages it easily grates a lot. Also having to go over 'what is murim? what is goomoonryong' at this point when we're into the third part of the series and neck deep in world building is frustrating. Besides that the Sunwoo clan unity that was achieved at the end of the second series is for some reason tossed under a bus for the sake of drama, it makes it feel like the satisfaction of the second series ending has been undermined. The art gives 'just another webcomic' vibe and mostly abandons what made the characters and the fight scenes really pop in the previous series. The characters.. I want to say they're still good, but Shi-Woon just seems so resigned and limited by invisible boundaries, even when he gets serious and 'gets angry' on behalf of his disciple or his people, it lacks the same impact and I can't put my finger on why. It's like, why did I bother waiting for this series to continue? The authors clearly don't care about it as much as I did. Or they're more interested in getting shiny new fans with exciting flashy clickbait developments happening to their new average guy replacement mc than they are in really focusing on Shi-woon's story.
