But as soon as he rises to the rank and files paperwork to take over, the rank-and-file citizens of the barony rise up and try to take over instead. But to save himself, Baron Rize does what he does best! He sucks up to the citizens! magic is the divine might that makes divine right for the nobility and aristocracy to rule. But our young baron decides to use that power for the citizens and bribe his way into a comfortable life. Or so he thought! His approval ratings suddenly skyrocket, and before he knows it, his people hail him as a savior! His magic may be revolutionary, but he didn't want a revolution! He just wanted to relax on the seaside, not commit regicide! He started empty-headed and empty-handed, but now things are getting out of hand!

This manga is so funny take on kingdom building and underdog becoming the strongest while being quite clueless in many ways. Think of Overlord, but MC being even more driven by his increasingly over-the-top subordinates. I hope this gets an anime adaptation. The MC is motivated by simple desire to have safe and comfortable life. He finds his only magic power can be quite useful to gain gratitude of people. The things shift to higher gear with arrival of priestess/sister, who points out using magic to help commoners is forbidden by the state religion. However, she does not represent the state religion in fact she represents opposition to it. She wants him to enter her religion and to establish in his domain base for her cult with the MC as their messiah, because he is the embodiment of their ideals. He agrees to avoid any problems, which gains him devotion of bunch crazy religious zealots including the priestess, who is the Albedo trope character for this series – she becomes overly affectionate of MC. She is the first to support his genius plan (he isn’t aware of) to take over the kingdom. As the story continues more characters enter the story. The comedy relies on misunderstandings, quirks of characters including some ludicrous yet cool battle techniques. The villains are mostly quite simple. Visually the series looks good, but not that great. The characters’ expressions and internal monologs are used for comedy quite often in this series. I do enjoy the series so far. It’s quite over-the-top series. It reminds me Konosuba and Overlord in some aspects, but this is not an isekai. Japanese difficulty 4/10 (see my profile for details about various difficulty scores) This series has furigana. The text volume is average. Occasionally there more unusual word, but the rest is on average level. This review is written after reading 6 volumes (all existing at the time).
