Both set in the inner/outer court surrounding the four main consorts of the emperor. Each mc has a trait/talent that they provide in aid of the courts. For the mangament the mc is a merchant and the other is a nurse of sorts. Both good reads tho only two translated ch of the management one.

Both have strong female leads who are remarkable in their field. Both are stuck in the palace (although in  Koukyuuhi no Kanrinin, the FL lead is in very position in comparison to the FL in  The Apothecary Diaries who is just a maid). Both FL does anything they can do to do what they love (not in the extreme sense though). Both stories take place inside  the plalace for concubines in   Historical China . Both stories  have fair share of politics . Unfortunetly  Koukyuuhi no Kanrinin has only 2 english translated chapters

Securing peace between the Uyghur Khaganate and the Tang Empire is not going to be easy, especially with a rebellion taking place in Tang.

Completely different story lines and settings, but Maomao and Kano really remind me of each other!

Both MCs are strong-willed, "plain" young women with very strong interests that they're willing to put above all else.

Both encounter a series of problems which require some level of intellect and detective work to figure out.

Despite them both being very clever, both MCs have a lack of insight into their own charms - this torments their respective love interests to no end.

Both MCs are also supported by very good looking guys who only have eyes for them. And most of the time they couldn't care less.
