The synopsis lead me to believe it'd be a romance between a sailor and a sea monster. It is not that. It's your average nobility/duke duchess romance. Except they're by the sea and have water powers. The gimmick involving the scales is ridiculously convoluted and a non-factor, at first I couldn't even tell that they were present and she loses them around the halfway point. The action is cool and the art is pretty. But in the end, it's not very original.
Honestly, the art is the only thing that made me rate it almost an 8. The story was a bit different when it came to their powers. The charactercs races varied alot too. The romance felt a bit forced and too "fast" for me. i mean, in the first chapter they're *sorta* in love. i wouldve love to see it build by chapters. The art was absolutely beautiful though, the panels and visuals were top notch.
I wish the story was a bit more "not forced".
