"Being a grown-up doesn't mean you become numb to sadness." I almost gave up on this when I started reading this because I thought it would be a shallow, drawn-out, miscommunicated love triangle, but I'm glad I pushed through! Our House is a sweet, subtle slice-of-life that deals with issues like anxiety and grief, while serving as a coming-of-age story - no matter the ages of the characters. The colour palette makes it ideal for a relaxing and cozy summer/autumn read, and I loved the sprinkles of humour throughout. "If you get tied up thinking about every angle, you'll end up getting nothing done." "You can envy people all you want, but you've still got to do what you can. Don't trap your future in the frame because of the past you can't change."
