Normally with mediocre series, I tend to get more annoyed with them as the chapters progress, but I actually found myself getting more engaged with this one as it went on. To put it in terms of ratings, I would rate the opening chapters as maybe a 4/10 and then at some point it gradually grew on me and entertained me more until it reached a healthy 6/10. My rating may eventually rise even further than this. I already find myself getting excited to see how Al will interact with some of these girls in the royal capital (with Alicia and with Leila), and if those story arcs are handled well than this manga may turn out to be quite good. The basic vibe is that Al uses feir overpowered magical capabilities to do everyday activities (in contrast to many manga, which have the protagonists use their powers to fight enemies). Fe uses ice magic to make shaved ice and to help in a snowball fight. Fe uses shield magic to walk through the air while fleeing from feir sister Elenora. Fe uses dimensional storage magic to preserve food in a fresh state. Fe uses teleportation magic to do magician-type tricks for parties and crowds. And, of course, fe uses fire magic to cook. Cooking and creating dishes is a central focus of the early chapters of this manga. Al introduces spaghetti, tamagoyaki, hamburger steaks, onigiri, and probably other dishes to this world fe was reincarnated into. Al also introduces this world to some games from our world--most notably, reversi. Most of the drama comes from Al saying insensitive things or teasing people or otherwise pushing peoples' buttons and then having to deal with often violent repercussions of that. It's kinda funny seeing hero-level magic and swordplay being used by kids for sibling squabbles. And it's also kinda funny seeing the parents' reactions, though at the same time, I feel like it's kinda abusive for a parent to dole out discipline while trying to vent frustrations. Like, in chapter 12, the father is portrayed as literally knocking Al unconscious because fe's pissed about Al teasing fem about the "dragonslayer" nickname. It's fine to get annoyed and even angry at your kids. And it's also fine to discipline your kids or train them in martial arts. But it's not okay to use discipline or training as an excuse to let loose your anger upon your child. But whatever, that abusiveness is where the humor comes from. [Reviewed at chapter 49]
