Having no intention of playing in the championships himself, Echizen is challenged by Oishi to a match to determine who should compete in the National Championships. Echizen wins the match easily and earns a spot on the Regulars roster just in time for the National Championships, where the competition has vastly improved. The Seigaku tennis club regulars have taken a day off from their normal routine for special condition training at a tennis resort at the top of a mountain. However this schedule of special training is rumored to be so terrifying that those who participated in the previous year didn’t speak for an entire week; and it’s not hard to see why. As if playing on a sloped court with a ban on water bottles isn’t tough enough, things become more complicated when a university tennis club arrive a day early for their booking and commandeer the courts. Now, with the other team refusing to give up the courts and the constant threat of Inui’s special juice looming over their heads, this promises to be one long day for the Seigaku regulars.

The stage is the U-17 (Under Seventeen) Japanese Representative Training Camp. Middle school students have been invited for the first time to a camp known to produce the best Japanese tennis players. National champions from Seigaku, Hyotei, Rikkai, Shitenhoji... With all the rivals from the national tournament attending, everyone eagerly awaits their reunion. At first, the middle schoolers do not expect much from their high school opponents. However, the training camp is not so easy!
