Groundbreaking Korean manhwa!  The story features a strong, relevent, NON-STEREOTYPICAL protagonist of African descent in the character of Saliou.  As the plot developes, the manhwa goes on to illustrate what may also be the first truly consensual and monogamous interracial male homosexual relationship in Korean manhwa.  The plot itself is your standard vampire, supernatural entity(s)/human love triangle but it features a vivid band of characters, plot twists and side stories to maintain a narrative that is quite captivating.  The art is also very attractive and quite pleasant to view.  The illustrator makes use of heavy contour lines and predominantly flat plains of mostly warm colors layered to give the illusion of a vast array of textures.  The finished product is exceedingly beautiful with a distinct Bramble Bush feel.  Alas, as of today (12/17/2020) the manhwa seems to be suspended in a state of limbo as the story ended abruptly with a cliff hanger back in July and has yet to update.  My advice to the author/illustrator would be to either quickly update the manhwa with the long anticipated chapter 35 or at least some word as to when we can legitimately expect a new chapter as your audience is losing interest.  Despite the hiatus, Blood Of The Sun is a definite read if you are into Black/Afro-American, LGBT, Interracial, Supernatural, Psychological, Religious/Anti-Religious or Suspense themed entertainment or if you are a fan of the Bramble Bush style of illustration.

UPDATE:  As of 1/24/2021, this manwha's 35th and 36th chapter have FINALLY been released and posted online!!!

i hope I'm not wrong here because this story's pacing is hella fast till the point it just expects you to understand what's going on without leaving any room for explanations or setting it up properly. Every chapter is focused on major plot points with a little bit of uncensored explicit smuts threw in it doesn't take a moment for the characters to take an effing break. That's just my opinion dun take it too personally, here you have a vampire named Paulo coming in between two werewolves because Paulo this dude is mistaking his loneliness for horniness for the priest-turned-white wolf Gabriel.... & the reason behind this uncalled obsession can prolly be traced back to his meeting with Gabriel's ancestral wolf thousands of years ago, yeah mate ok that's pretty believable. I understood his Kira complex since he's the first vampire and all but the freaking lust factor for Gabriel is too weak. Dun find it convincing for me nah uh sorry bruh.

Despite the huge mess of a pacing and exposition this story has the idea bits the author wanted to convey did translate well so there's that. It's a story you've to swallow in one go to not miss what were going on in earlier chapters. All in all it's still a better love story than Twilight, periodt.

Ironically this review is also a mess

The plot is interesting and somehow unique. In my opinion, there is a lack of character development as well as a lack of dynamic. People shipping Gabriel with Paulo disgusts me. He keeps rapping Gabriel, and I'm not sure why Seonghyeon-nim draws such long and detailed rape scenes. Saliou and Gabriel, on the other hand, who were in love, were cut in their love making. They also don't get enough screen time, and Saliou's character looks half-baked. The ending was rushed, and it was solely a happy ending because the tragedy was over. It would be wonderful if the vampires-werewolves got a better explanation and the facing was fast paced so it was difficult to understand what was going on throughout the story. Saliou and Gabriel had a healthy and conssesual relationship, thus it was refreshing to see an interacial couple.
