Syaoran’s mysterious other self shows signs of awakening, the group must each overcome hurdles from their own past, and they continue to see familiar faces in each world they visit … but does the familiar face always belong to a different person, or are others traveling between the worlds just as they are? The group will need all their courage and resolve to continue on the path to their dreams.

The story takes place a one year before Itadori's time, focusing on his upperclassmen at Jujutsu High--Maki, Panda, Toge and Yuta Okkotsu (the MC). In Jujutsu Kaisen, we don't see Yuta, but other characters often make reference to him and the incidents that occur in this volume. Yuta's been brought in to Jujutsu High by Satoru Gojo because he's been cursed by his childhood friend, Rika. But this is no ordinary curse as she's classified Special Grade. And because of her overwhelming strengh, Yuta doesn't know how to control or use her. Meanwhile, Suguru Geto is out to get Yuta Okkotsu, specifically targeting Rika to add to his own collection of cursed spirits he controls, setting up a showdown with his best friend-turned-enemy, Gojo

One day, on one of his hunting trips, Prince Siegfried sees a band of swans resting peacefully in the lake. One particular swan captures his attention, because it’s wearing a crown and stares at him just like a human. Siegfried is mesmerized and follows the swan all the way to some ruins, where the pretty swan suddenly transforms into a beautiful lady. The beautiful lady turns out to be Princess Odette, who was put under a cruel spell by the evil wizard Rothbart; and it is this spell that makes her turn into a swan every day, regaining her true human form only when the moon shines upon the lake. The only thing that can break the spell is the unconditional love of a man for her, which Siegfried is eager to give, but things aren’t as easy as they seem.
