After reading so many manhuas this really felt like a breath of fresh air. I would not say it does everything different from other similar manhuas, but everything it does is definitely good. It's a more mature approach to "cultivation in modern world" stories, which means: less comedy, more mystery and intrigue. This makes the world and the story more immersive and keeps the reader more invested in the story. And even if there are some more light-hearted moments, they never feel totally out of place.

The author also treats his audience like adults by not giving us brainless exposition dumps every chapter explaining every single detail possible.

MC:

Opposite to your typical Chinese MC this one is more serious and mature. Even though he is quite young, he is still very powerful and smart. He knows how to handle any situation and he doesn't blush after seeing half a boob of a woman. He definitely knows what he is doing, which makes sense since he started cultivating from a very young age. Because of that he is also well respect by others so don't expect some randoms insulting him every chapter only to get slapped. He is also not romantically interesting in anyone in the story yet.

Side characters:

Not as one-dimensional as they usually are in a manhua. They get development throughout the story none of them feel annoying. The villains aren't super dumb either.

Art:

It's not SSS-tier but it does what it's supposed to do and the fights scenes look very good. You can feel the impact. The movements don't feel stiff or unrealistic. Also the MC has drip.

Story:

So far so good. It's different than usual. The MC isn't some reicarnated super strong god who has to get his cultivation back. It's not a generic revenge story either. I also don't feel like the pacing is too fast which is good for what the story is supposed to be. The fight scenes and story arcs aren't dragged out for god knows how long. The MC is strong and he is going to one-shot his opponents, because he can (does not matter if you are a woman or a man). He does not waste time on useless talk. The story isn't very far yet, because there are only 40 translated chapters, but the setup we got to this point is great.

I would definitely recommend it to people who want some smart and OP MC but also to those who want to read a more mature manhua that isn't filled with overused tropes.

9/10 story
8.5/10 art
