It’s actually a pretty good manga about a “shinobi warrior demon” girl who has a bat shape birthmark on her face and is pretty much a badass like my god man, the fighting scenes with her were clean af. It’s just too bad this was cut short like it would have the potential to be a full on 90 chapters story. It’s even interesting to see that this manga is set in Feudal Japan because the author did well with Full Metal Alchemist so it’s a pretty nice shift to explore more by the author! Props to Hiromu Arakawa for creating this one shot, it’s really good folks to check out!
Henpukumaru's fighting style involves using a chain to either choke out or disarm feir opponent and then possibly finishing them off with a blade. I liked this fighting style and very much enjoyed the fight scenes. I also appreciated the context and backstories. Nice, solid storytelling that does a good job of getting us invested in the characters, who are otherwise honestly somewhat bland. I don't really have any major complaints about the manga, but it also didn't really excite me all that much. Still probably worth reading at least once, especially if you're a fan of manga about feudal-era Japan and ninjas.
