The childishness of basically every character makes them entirely unappealing to watch and makes it impossible to feel any sort of heart-tugging from the attempts at romantic tension. Kate is oblivious and fake, Arios is petty and pouty, Ediard is playful and annoying, Eliza is one-dimensional and unempathetic. Basically, in their own ways, they're all on the same mental level as the literal child Albila. Part of that might just be that the author was trying to have them fit into some common tropespace, but I think it's mainly that fe just doesn't know how to write characters. As for the plot, it consists of nothing but a series of of weak love rivalries being introduced and then dealt with, all before the main couple has officially declared their feelings for each other and come together. I suppose we are supposed to suppose that Kate has always had a thing for Arios, but I definitely didn't get that impression from chapter one. Fe had no problems leaving Arios's mansion and living on feir own in that chapter, which then made it seem out of character for fem to be bothered by the idea of having to move out in chapter four. Like, where did these feelings come from and why is the manga so inept at showing the transition from Kate feeling apathy toward Arios to liking fem? As for the art, it's not very good, but I guess it's good enough. The faces are generic and similar. The background flowers are a bit excessive. Some of the background stuff, like carriages, are overly simplistic.
