LMS is about a poor person selling his game accoutn for a large sum of money and then using some of that money to pay all his debts. Then his aim is to earn as much money as possible, so he plays the game, where he becomes really great at almost everything he tries.

Solo Leveling is more on the darker side compared to LMS, but it has a lot more action. It is based in a world with gates. These gates are connected to dungeons and if these dungeons are not completed within a certain time, the gate will open completely, allowing the monsters on the inside to run rampant in the world. The MC acquires a 'system' as he calls it, which is a level up system. The more he fights, the stronger he becomes. EXP+ EXP+... LV UP!

They are very similar yet not really. Cant really explain in words but its a very good manga.

apizzle apizzle says...

Very much the same vein though the character of LMS is much more atypical than SL. Though they both have fiscal needs, LMS's Weed is truly deviante and isn't above putting everything on the line to punch up toward enemies and situations that would ordinaly be next to impossible to overcome. SL's Jinwoo is more of the type that any random person can relate to given a similar situation and oppotunity. Weed just has a devious mind and a background of being a genius of hard work. Jinwoo's ace seems to be more endurance or perseverance but without the more cerebal aspect of Weed.

They share a similar plot line. They both have a leveling system that is unknown to the rest of the populace.

Both these mangas focus on gamification of life in their own styles and both are quite good having a single main character fighting his way to the top.

They really are similar in the fact that they both have the ability as a "gamer". I am currently up to datw with both and manga and webtoon and they both are really good. Even though The Gamer is more like on the light side of things and Solo is more on the mature bloody side, but I love it so much.

So I'm a Spider, So What?

I was your average, everyday high school girl, but now I've been reborn in a magical world...as a spider?! Wait-this isn't how these stories are supposed to go! Can I get a do-over? ...No? But how am I supposed to survive in this big, scary dungeon as one of the weakest monsters? It's "every spider for herself " in here! I gotta figure out the rules to this QUICK, or I'll be kissing my short second life good-bye...

Again, amazingly OP main characters, a diverse cast of side-characters, and amazingly-drawn action scenes. The plots are very similar sometimes, too.

I started reading Solo Leveling before Quan Zhi Gao Shou and for me Quan Zhi Gao Shou is an upgrade. It has the same components as Solo Leveling (they're both about an overpowered character with a growing group of followers) but I just thought Quan Zhi Gao Shou was a lot more interesting and better at keeping the reader curious. I feel like you know what's going to happen before it's actually happening with Solo Leveling and that's a huge turn-off for me. So yeah, definitely try this one out if you liked Solo Leveling and be pleasantly surprised

mirrormimi mirrormimi says...

If you read Arifureta and enjoyed the "weakest character getting stronger in the dungeon" part, then Solo Leveling is for you. Unlike Arifureta it keeps up with that topic, and doesn't change into an adventure or a harem manga, it focuses mainly on the leveling/new skills part (which personally was my favourite part of the manga).

If you read Solo Leveling, Arifureta is really fun the first chapters... then it devolves a little into a harem adventure story.

Both are edgy© "nothing personnel kid" stories. In a fun way.
