The manhwa wasn’t that bad but the characters (especially the FL), made me hate it. The characters are so boring or just straight up unlikeable. The fl’s personality feels forced. 90% of the time, she’s overly bubbly and happy for absolutely no fucking reason. She also has thing thing where she loves “beautiful things” (people included). Look, I understand the intention behind this characteristic. She’s supposed to be funny and quirky (not like the other girls) but it crosses a line it shouldn’t cross. The fl is basically sexually assaulting these women (groping without permission, saying weirdly uncomfortable sexual things)… it’s genuinely so uncomfortable to read. Plus the dialogue seems so forced and cringey. It feels like it was written by a teenager. The only positive thing about this manhwa is the art. The art is wonderful, despite the boring story. I skimmed through many chapters and finished it, not because it’s good but because I HAVE to finish something I start. I really don’t recommend tho.

**Review based on first 35 chapters, spoilers marked like this** I'll be honest -- I don't like the MC. I'm all for strong female characters overcoming challenges and being badass. She can fight, she's smart & cunning, definitely not a damsel in distress. Totally down for that...but I don't like how she frequently comes acoss as a bit of a pervert. She says she can't control herself whenever she sees pretty men or women and is regularly being pulled off of or held back by other people to prevent her from continuing to kiss/touch/hug/get up in other people's personal space. If our MC was being cast for a typical college webtoon, she'd be the sterotypical overly-touchy, creepy upperclassman harrassing the freshmen. Yuck. Leave the pervy stuff to the side character antagonists that we're kicking to the curb, not our MC please.  I was confused for a while about who our main couple is because I thought the cover was showing a black-haired female MC and a silver-haired ML, but then in the first chapter, we meet the the silver-haired person from the cover, but they're a woman.....and this wasn't addressed for A WHILE.....anyways, [MAJOR SPOILER] this is a crossdressing/genderbend story where our ML regularly takes a potion to temporarily transform into a woman. This is a trope I normally love, especially since it tends to lead to hilarious misunderstandings. Not going to lie though, I was excited for this to be a GL with two kickass ladies, but it's okay, still liking the hidden identity aspect.   The art is nice, the politics & intrigue are interesting. But at least for now, I am dropping this series since I haven't gotten super invested in the storyline or other characters yet since I was busy feeling uncomfortable with the MC. And I fully admit that I may be just extra sensitive to this due to my personality/past experiences and maybe the MC isn't so bad for anyone else.  Read this completed series on the Pocket Comics app/site - one free chapter every day plus up to two additional chapters if you use your daily gift ticket & complete the daily mission. Binged all 91 chapters today! Lemme cut to the chase... Does this have a good plot? No. Good characters? Not necessarily. A decent read though? Yeah, when procrastinating its bearable. Its not even as bad as the other reviews say it is. Thats why I rate it a 6.9. It could be better though.  Art The art is... kinda trash. Ngl, I rarely hate on art. But when your own art looks better than this manhwas panels its a bit you know... off putting? I dont even have that much artistic talent, but some panels were kinda like eughhh ok what Ill ignore this but thats weird looking.  Characters Characters, I rated this a 6. Although everyone seems to hate the main character Evelyn. I dont seem to understand why, shes not that bad.  Im sure the author of this story wanted to make a flirty and happy main character. Evelyn is a really optimistic character, okay she does borderline harass her crew members but thats because they trust and love her too. Do you really think they are the type of characters to just accept someone harassing them for no reason? Secondly its her way of showing love. Shes not a pick me at all, its her way of expressing her herself. Thirdly, readers may be angry because of her shallow way of thinking. She definitely does like pretty things. But thats more in a metaphorical sense. She sees her girls as powerful in terms of her personalities and actual physical strength, thats what she believes is beautiful. Especially with the ML (forgot his name), Evelyn was first attracted to her/him because of the resolute look in her eyes, her powerful and just mindset, not because of her outward appearance( well that plays a factor too). So the hate train on Evelyn is kinda unjustified seeing as how many other aspects of the manhwa are much more worse.  (Partial spoilers and criticisms ahead.) For instance! The duke!!! An example of the most shallow, boring character in this series or ever to be created. The duke is the reason why I had rated this character aspect 6/10. His actions are unjustified, hes the pillar of the empire and dog of the emperor yet he has no reason to be? Hes not tied by any magic. Hes just a horrible person, who killed his own child and caused his wifes suicide. Its so unrealistic. The author even tried to make us pity him by including the fact that his first love was taken away from him by the emperor. But that is definitely not an excuse for his actions, he should have moved on when he had a new wife and children. Unlike other villains this character was just bad... but there wasnt any explanation as to why he behaved this way. The best villains have a drive and motive towards their goal, yet we dont see that with him nor the emperor. Theyre just trash human beings with low IQ.  Plot The plot is trash. Makes absolutely no sense. Plot armour. No political sense and rational behind certain decisions in the manhwa. The whole manhwa was rushed in the last 15 chapters. Eg, the jump between chapter 78 and 79 was insane. Even if I wrote a whole paragraph it wouldnt express how rushed and trash the plot is. Sorry not sorry author. Fight scenes Trash. As the whole concept of the Beauty of Blade mercenary group was to fight, I expected epic battle scenes, ones that could rev me up like in TBATE (still a trash manhwa tho). But the movements of the characters felt stiff and boring.  Character relations and romance Ok, I guess the relationship between the ML and Evelyn was kindaaa cute. However, it was also soooo cringe bruh. There werent enough heart raising moments, like when you cant feel yourself flushing and blushing at the same time as the characters, you know its a mid romance. I was greatly disappointed, as the romance is the main aspect of the manhwa. Well beggars cant be choosers u know.
