Shinmai Ossan Boukensha, Saikyou Party ni Shinu Hodo Kitaerarete Muteki ni Naru.

It is common knowledge that it is best to become an adventurer when you are as young as possible, because the magical power that is the basis of an adventurer's strength will hardly grow if you don't train it while you are young. But this man, Rick Gladiator, who became an adventurer when he was over thirty years old, had the combat power of an S-rank adventurer, the highest rank in the world. In fact, Rick has lived an unimaginable life with the members of the legendary Orihalcon Fist, a party of the continent's strongest adventurers. From dragons to vampires, Rick's fighting prowess, trained by his literally "monster" mentors, allows him to defeat elite adventurers one after another who try to underestimate him.

The wyverns and monsters and stuff look absolutely stellar. The faces sorta remind me of the Bleach style, with the intense brow scowls and pronounced jaws. I often find myself not liking the faces. The chin-mouth relationship can be kinda ugly, the eyes can feel a bit tacked on and weird-looking from a distance, the ear cartilage looks like lava lamp contortions, and the heads are egg-shaped. I didn't care for the way the intro part of the story had Rick be unaware of how strong fe was compared to others. Like, yea, it allowed for the slightly funny interaction with Angelica, but was that really worth the way it made fem come across as unobservant and lacking in self-awareness? The current storyline has decided to include a recurring gag where Rick shows off one of the Eight Secret Techniques Of Holding Back so that fe could participate in fights against other people without risking doing serious damage to them, and I guess I appreciate this type of joke a bit more than the "humbly unaware" type of joke. The real turning point in the manga for me--where I started feeling that I might end up finding it interesting--was the backstory in chapters 10-12. It's a solid backstory that both works to make Lynette feel like more of a love interest and also introduces Rick's skill, Reckless Soul, in a way that makes me want to see how it'll inevitably be used in the main story down the line. I also like all of the members of Rick's party, and feel that they work well for those comedy-action moments that this manga is built to produce. The overarching quest is to collect the Six Jewels which, when brought together, will unlock entry into Kaiser Arusapieto's dungeon--Kaiser Arusapieto being the final boss of the series that Rick and the other members of the party aim to defeat. Along the way, there will be jokes about how overwhelmingly powerful these people are. [Reviewed at chapter 19]

TL;DR - A confusing average... Some things are great, and some things are downright terrible. The premise is one we've seen over and over again - main character who's somehow the exception to all the rules you can conceive of surprising everyone with how insanely overpowered he is. The characters start off uninteresting and shallow. The main character has no personality other than your stereotypical ultra-positive, kind, courteous guy. His origins are far-fetched at best, he spends 14 years as a desk clerk and somehow in his 30s, within 2 years, becomes S-rank even though the entire first half of the first chapter hammers into you that latent talent can only be developed when you're young. The antagonists encountered so far are your stereotypical, overly-evil-for-no-reason characters. Band of siblings born into royalty who treat/look down on everyone else like they're trash, brainless mercenaries-for-hire who want to kill the MC just cus they were told to, drunkard who harasses women... it's so goddamn boring. But then occasionally you get that little bit of humor that shows the story isn't taking itself too seriously. Like the artist can't make up their mind on whether this is a comedy or an epic. The artwork is... confusing? It's not bad when drawn from certain angles. A lot of the women have certain panels where they're really pretty. And actually some of the background scenery and the panels with wyverns are drawn really, really well too. Detailed. Clean lines. But then, the problem is that the artist seems to have skimped on basic anatomy - there are certain angles where the structure of bones is horrendous. Wtf is this jawline. Why is the left eye a mile away from the center Story so far has been centered around MC registering and taking the exam to become an E rank adventurer. And of course, he's far, far more powerful than anyone else. They're the same gimmicks we've seen before (punching bag to gauge power, of course he completely blows it out of the building. Defense test? Somehow withstands spells that can destroy villages). About 12 chapters in, you're finally given an "explanation" of why he's so goddamn powerful and of course, another overused gimmick, in the heat of battle with his life on the line, he conveniently acquires an overpowered skill. What really kills me about this is that up until this chapter, the whole "Skill acquired!" thing wasn't even mentioned anywhere else. I didn't think this would be a video-game like isekai, I just thought it was a story based in some magical world. Just feels insanely gimmicky and way too convenient. A little further into the story you get better development of characters, so that's helped a lot. But I can't give this manga any better than a 5 or 6 out of 10. It's just too rough around the edges.
