...things happen, which I won’t go into for fear of spoiling it. What I will say is that the Grim Reaper will die if fe is ever truly loved by a human. And that throughout the story, the Grim Reaper’s son, Ende, exuberantly proclaims feir love for the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper, named Velius, is a somewhat intriguing character, I guess. Fe is kinda suicidal, in that fe is trying to get Ende to love fem. It’s an interesting motive and leads to a situation where we don’t know whether fe truly cares for Ende or if fe’s just pretending. We see signs of jealousy and possessiveness.

Ende jumps onto people and clings to them, and acts sorta childish and dependent. All of the boy children look like girls. To the point that I was legitimately confused when I was reminded that Ende was the Grim Reaper’s son. They wear sailor uniforms with big ribbons tied into bows. Also, their shorts look kinda like skirts and their faces are somewhat feminine. The artist is definitely trying for some shotacon fanservice, even including a bathing scene (which we all know are the height of fan service).

I don’t care for Schwarz, the black bird. As a character, fe doesn’t contribute very much to the story. And artwise, the beak is drawn badly. Almost everything else is drawn quite well though. I’m not sure if I care for the inclusion of the shadowy scythe. I mean, it was drawn well, but I felt like the story was intentionally avoiding using some of the Death stereotypes (so that the friends would see fem as “just a human”) and I was appreciating that. But then it just went ahead and included the stereotype anyway. Also, Ende has a bruise on feir right leg...

2/10 story
8/10 art
1/10 characters
2/10 overall
