Jun Kishida is a sickly high school student who can see dead people. One person in particular is following him around: his childhood friend Ryoko Hayakawa. Even after he uncovered the truth behind Hayakawa's death, she stayed by his side. As he and his classmates get into even more strange and mortally dangerous situations, Hayakawa's spirit quietly aids him.
GORE! So much gore! Its very creepy and contained some imagery and twists that gave me literal shivers. The series is very episodic but there is an over arching plot that culminates to a grand finale. No real romance, no sex, only one instance of nudity that I can remember. The ghosts and creatures are a beautiful mix of stereotypes and unique creations. I recommend reading it if you enjoy stories like the corpse delivery service, ghost hunt, and other horror/death interactive series. I will warn you, the ending is very sudden and leaves the results up to the imagination of the reader. If you are interested in a long gruesome journey, please give it a read
I totally enjoyed reading this. The story, characters, settings are pretty great. Well, there are some details that may be confusing or shocking at first. Still, it entertains you in the end. The MC can see the dead and he saw his childhood friend following him around. This story mostly surrounds between the two especially the MC (of course xD). My favorite character is his childhood friend, Ryoko Hayakawa. The MC might be my second? I don't know. Anyway, I'm not saying that you should look forward only to the two characters but the others as well. Some of them might have lacking information but when you re-read it you can see some small details that you haven't seen. They are pretty unique with different background and history. One thing that got my attention is a subtle information about their mental state. It's so realistic for me at the same time is not. You know? Hahahahahaha Oh, I haven't talked about the art!! So, the art is really good. Like good good!! Some of them might be disturbing or disgusting but it's very interesting and entertaining for me. xD The art has a good feeling to the story or how the story goes far. Like, it vibes with it. I totally love it. XD One of the reasons why I'm so caught up with Ryoko. I love her so much. >_< The ending though..... T_T ANYWAY, I highly recommend this to you guys to read it!! Might be one of my favorite mangas of all time. Hahahahahaha If you don't like this kind of genre or story, just try reading it for a few chapters!! :D
The story was portrayed in a very unique way. The chapters are mostly from the main character's point of view, but they are told like a story, and mostly don't include what he's thinking. Many chapters end ubruptly, like there should be more to the story, which is very interesting and I kind of like. However, I was very upset that there was no ending. We don't get to see what the final antagonist decides to do, what happens in the final 'fight', or who survives at all. It just ending in the middle of the final conflict, and not even because it got axed. I really liked that a character would get introduced, then the chapter would end suddenly, as if in the next chapter the story with them would continue, only for them to not be mentioned until several chapters later. The other thing that bothered me was the characters, especially the main character, at least in the beginning. I mean, he knows that the ghost girl is trying to protect him, but even when any sane person whould not go into the creey room with the murderer or wherever, and the ghost girl is frantically telling him not to, he still does. Later on his character settles into someone who just can't say no when other people ask him to do stupid things. Overall I liked it, and would recommend to someone who likes supernatural stuff, but be warned there is lots of gore.
