Shadows House—a strange mansion that receives no callers, inhabited by a race of faceless shadows who play at being aristocrats and are waited on hand and foot by “living dolls,” who also serve as their masters' faces. What goes on inside this enigmatic manor is anyone's guess, but soot and shrieks billow up from within…

the story of this manga is good , there are a lot of mysteries and a lot of heart warming moments too.i liked it. The characters the story and the art , everything is just beautiful.(sorry if this was not of any help , I'm not good with writing reviews )
If you're like me, and you finished the anime and wanted to see how the manga goes, you won't be disappointed. Everything from art, to the characters, to the backstories finally revealed, it's just an amazing read. Yes, the series has its slower points, and not much changes between our main characters and the star bearers until around chapter 130, but in that time we learned a ton about the village near the Shadows House, Kate's backstory and how unique she is to the rest of the shadows, and saw the bond between our debutants grow. This series is nowhere close to ending -- right now it's at 145 chapters and there will probably be at least another 100+ with likely way more -- so be prepared for a fun ride that's not close to over.
Guys, I'm around half way through the series but I just couldn't stop my self from reviewing this. It's a masterpiece, right now I would define it as a fantasy/mistery with drama, comedy and really smart sequences. Plot: I won't spoil anything as this is best experienced with 0 prior knowledge. The story is awesome: The plot is very unique and not contrived at all, the world all of this takes place in is absolutely perfectly crafted through amazing worldbuilding and really good characters. The misteries at the core of the story are some of the most interesting and well executed I've seen in manga. The dialogue is very good and it complements the setting, the characters and the plot in a very smart way. The characters: I love them all, they are complex and everchanging in believable ways. They are all products of the world they live in, their interactions make always perfect sense and as of right now the two main characters are absolutely relatable and worthy of being followed through the story. The side characters all have unique personalities and different ideals within the setting. The character growth in 50, 12 page chapters is astonishing compared to most manga. The art: A very subjective thing to review, but it's awesome. The backgrounds are very well rapresented, the characters look really good and have a wide range of expressions. All the pannels that have movement, like more action packed scenes are very fluid and well crafted. The setting is overall rapresented in avery cool 1700 european style. Overall this is a masterpiece, I love the plot and it's misteries, I love the characters and the world they live in. The atmosfere is a masterfully crafted hybrid between calm and peaceful and absolutely dreadful and upsetting. The comedic moments almost always hit the mark and so does the drama, since we are so invested in the characters. I love this and it's one of the manga I reccomend not skipping, if this ends with a bang (And it's very likely) it could stand up there with the greats. Read it everybody, you won't regret a second you spend on it.
