Seishun Survival

Summer camping trips are supposed to be filled with joy and laughter, but why is Kiriko so unlucky~~? At first it was that weakling four eyes, Kazuo and cutesy Hana-chan destroying the pork soup, but then they never came back after asking them to go pick up some wild herbs! Oh, fine! So she and Satoru went up the mountains to get them, but who knew they’d get lost too?!

This is a collection of four oneshots. The synopsis is only describing the first oneshot. I liked the first oneshot a decent amount. I'd probably rate it as a 6 or 7/10. It's a pretty low-stakes survival story, but that does make it feel a bit more relatable. I liked the moral of the story, as it were, that you shouldn't label people as "useless" and instead it's better to recognize and appreciate their strengths. The second oneshot is possibly my favorite. I'd probably rate it as an 8/10. The premise for this one is that a girl overhears a guy presumably agreeing to a bet with some guy friends wherein the guy would try to make this girl fall in love with fem for some moneys. The guy and girl then end up writing letters to each other. It was a pretty cute and endearing romance, and that initial overheard bet ended up adding all of the dramatic intrigue which the plot could ever need. The third story kinda sucks, in my opinion. It's basically trying to blend together school-life romance with ninja intrigue, and I don't think it pulls it off in a very interesting manner. I'd rate it as a 2 or 3/10, I guess. The final oneshot is a continuation (as it were) of Otokomae! Beads Club. I'd rate it as a 4/10. And you'll notice that for my overall score, I'm definitely giving more weight to the oneshots which I liked than the ones that I disliked. If I weighted them more equally, my overall score would probably be a 5/10. But I get to score things however I choose to score things, so I declare this collection to be a 7/10.
