That world is known as 'Divine Cloth'." This is the legend that was told from generation to generation. Beneath the Earth of Divine Cloth is the world engulfed in darkness. There lives the creatures that were sealed by God known as Bugs. Frequently, Bugs plunge out from their world, creating holes on Divine Cloth. To fix these holes and reseal the Bugs beneath the ground, a young man and woman, Ryle and Marino, set out on their journey.

The story is set in a world were gods control the heavens, giants the earth, and nibelung (a strange looking race) the underground. The main character (Sigurd) wanting to learn what fear is makes his entrance during a battle between the (almost extinct) humans and giants. Things weren't looking good until he pulls out a broken sword that scares even the giants. At the same time, a goddess descends along with a meteor shower. What is the importance of the broken sword who can only be fixed by "the fool without fear"? What's the mission of the goddess on earth?

People blame the girl and called her 'Witch' since they think that the monsters are resulted from the substance. Among mankind, there are some people who can use this 'Metaphysic particle'. They use strong power of mind to create a beast to fight with monsters. Afterward, they, who use 12 items to create those beasts, become known as TWELVE.

Ichizo is the grand son of Sanzo, an old man who wanted world peace by going to tenjiku, a place where wishes come true. But mysteriously, only the west was in peace. So Ichizo takes his grandfather's shakujô (big iron stick) and decided to go around the world because it is that Sanzo took the road to Sinolek (a path that leads to tenjiku which goes around of the earth) from the west rather than east as only the small side of the world remained peaceful.

After he was attacked by a dragon as a child, a mysterious mouth that only he could see appeared on the back of Shaal's hand. At 15 years old, he graduated from the Anthropological Society, and then moved on Theosophical Society to study humanity. There, he studies mystical phenomenons such as alchemy and magical visions, in order to learn how to create dragons and destroy the mouth on his left hand.

A force of Arisen knights passes through their town in search of more Arisen to join their ranks. Tenia reveals that she is an Arisen and wants to travel with them.
