what a major disappointment. at the beginning, the ML was kind of rude but it was just his personality that wasn't great. but they both bonded over their problems. they developed a meaningful relationship where they supported each other. it's rare to see this level of open communication in yaoi. but... then the author used the "i didn't get what i wanted, so i'm gonna be abusive during s**" trope. i hate this, it doesn't make any sense. until that point, the ML was kind of pushy but he respected boundaries. then suddenly, he got really rough and disrespectful during s**. the MC was begging for the ML to stop multiple times because he's in pain. and the ML didn't stop. i guess we see this all the time in yaoi. it's still wrong and uncomfortable. that chapter even had a trigger warning (so this isn't me exaggerating or something). this story had so much potential! for me what's worse is that the violent s** was exactly while the ML was supposedly trying to convey his feelings for the MC. whats the logic? "i like you so much, that's why i'm mistreating you and making you feel unbelievable pain"? the MC's mental health was also already in shambles, he has a drinking problem. he honestly deserves better then that sh***y ML.

Although I admit the story was rather draggy for 91 chapters and the seme being a arrogant p*idk of a police officer at times, the art as well as the relationship with chef uke was spicy enough to impress me 🌶👍
