Second Try Idol is a relatively entertaining, lighthearted portrayal of the showbiz/idol world where the MC had an accident and some trauma and then went back in time.  Unfortunately (if you ask me) he has it far too easy because he's back in a time where he's 1) already part of a company 2) right about to be accepted into his group 3) has a lot of connections because he's been part of the company from childhood 4) now has all the 'cheat-like' knowledge of showbiz from years and years more of being an idol trainer on top of his whole life previous training for it.  It's not so much a 'struggle' to the top as it is a pretty portrayal of him and his group succeeding a lot and some timeline changes in his favor.  That said?  A lot of pretty boys dancing and singing in costumes.  Not much to complain about if that's all you're looking for, plus a feel-good chill sort of manhwa.  It doesn't really stand out as superior or anything, it's pretty average, but it's not something I'd put down either because, let me reiterate: pretty boys.  That is all.

It begins with a pretty stupid reason: MC is dismissed as an idol for volunteering to save his friend from a falling shandalier, resulting in major facial burn. Getting burned  by candlelight It's ridiculous, and Mc allows everyone walk all over him without taking a stand while blaming the agency... From the start, the man mentions a conflicting and unlikable MC. Furthermore, the author scares others with his deformed visage, and by service experts no less? The author clearly did not conduct any research. Then there's a generic death and a flashback to when he was a 19-year-old youngster. Can authors start being innovative for a change Furthermore, MC is never shown to have worked hard but chose the easy way out, thus there is no incentive to vote for him or support him in his ambition. Furthermore, the painting is simply simple, focused on pure white with no figures or distinct appearances. Also, the author is attempting to make the MC have difficulty recognising individuals, yet when displaying their photographs side by side, the author did not even attempt to distinguish the images from being identical. Also, the MC behaves far too juvenile for someone his age. The deal breaker was that despite having nothing but experience, he is highly acclaimed for his abilities. Yes, the same qualities that led him here in the future that were minor at best make no sense and are a forced storyline.
