The engagement between Scarlet, a noblewoman from a ducal family and the Second Prince Kyle was suddenly annulled during the ball. She had been falsely accused of harassing a girl called Terenezza, daughter to a baron, whom the Prince doted on heavily. Condemned by everyone around her, forced to burden all manner of crimes, she finally decided enough was enough.“Before I leave here, may I ask for one final thing?” As the crowd threw their boos and jeers, and that good looking guy flung his insults ─ Her palm spun like a drill and the ballroom floor was stained with blood.
This is the first time I've ever read a story where the female lead immediately fight back (literally) after being told that her engagment to the crown prince was annuled. Usually they have to find a way to get out of that situation but here she just punched everyone in the attendance and it felt so satisfying. But that's it.I don't feel any more substance coming from the story after that. As soon as I saw that there were already more than 4 male leads introduced in the story after only 5 chapter I knew it wouldn't really be that interesting. Sure she is focusing on politics and purging the empire from corrupt nobles but all of that get thrown away whenever a cute perfect boy is on the panel. The author is trying to appeal to a lot of crowds here and I think it takes a toll on the overall plot.Strong female protagonist? sure. Interesting story? yes. But the other characters aren't at all.
It's such a refreshing story to read, I love it. It's a funny story with some romance. The heroin is a tsundere.
The thing with the characters is that they're normal, most of them bland with the almost exception of the prince. The mc is just that over the top strong character so if you put the others near her without any equal over the top attribute then they will get overshadowed. The prince for example is a gentleman but since her partner is this particular mc he tends to make less of an impact, particularly of how the story frames him- a bothersome person, a guy that the mc won't bother with, a photo bomber when the mc tries to take a picture! Although the mc is ploughing her way through the corrupt nobles I have yet to see the direction that the story plans to take. This is reviewed at chap 12 where the new character managed to keep up with her over the top pressence, that's why the score for characters is 6.
